Any thoughts or suggestions ? A tactical Camera sling ? for a dslr.
Can you elaborate on what you mean by tactical? Do you want something that is “tactical” in appearance or is there a specific function you want?

i’ve been using this one for a while and like it, if you’re looking for something other than the standard camera strap:

something similar to the Eniner… wider strap but w/quick release buckles.
Black Rapid.
custom 1 point?
100%
I’m a wedding photographer which means im shooting for long ass periods at a time and the black rapid is bar none the best strap system i’ve used.
What type of camera do you have? It must be quite large to not fit in the carrying case.
I prefer the Luma Loop because it doesn’t strap to the tripod mount, which I was always a little wary of. With the Luma Loop it connects to the existing camera strap loops and it has a sturdy QD connector.
a gripped 5dmkII, technically it fit, but it filled the entire top and made it a pain to get out. plus it would only work with one of my lenses, the others were too big.
the mongo fits the camera and a lens or two real easily.
Cool - but is the QD socket rotation limited?
I keed, I keed…
John Willis makes one.
i know you’re kidding, but it’s not rotation limited, so that the cord doesn’t get twisted ![]()
i like the luma loop as well, but the OP was asking about a ‘tactical’ sling.
i did a writeup on the luma in the past:

i usually have the luma loop on my DSLR, but i’ll swap that out to the E9 if i just want a simple, more compact strap
Their QD connector is practically bomb-proof. Great product.
I prefer the Black Rapid precisely because it does go on the tripod socket. That attachment point is the strongest point on the camera body. Additionally, I want the ability to attach the sling to the lens in cases where the lens is large, long, and even heavier than the camera body and therefore has its own tripod mount. In that situation, attaching to the camera body means the weight of the camera and the lens on one single sling attachment point, now with the whole weight of the lens torquing on the camera lens mount. Especially problematic if you’re going to be doing a lot of bouncing/jumping etc.
Thanks for all the insight !
Echo 9er… excellent product.
+1. The Black Rapids are pretty tough to beat. As a wedding and commercial photographer, I often spend 8-10 hours hauling gear around, so I am pretty picky about what strap systems I use.
Just reading the thread reminds me of the chessy Photojournalist you see on the war movies who have 2 or 3 camera and have like the 3 point slings so they can sling one under each arm when they run out of film.
