The Truth About Guns forum featured a review of the TacCon trigger and effectively exposed it as the overpriced scam that it is. TacCon apparently did not like this. And they responded, badly.
Anyone thinking about wasting $500 on the TacCon trigger really needs to read this post carefully.
By the way, there is absolutely NO proof provided by TacCon that their trigger can provide a cyclic rate of 600 rounds per minute. I contacted the company and asked them to tell me the “top speed” of the trigger. Answer? 600 rounds per minute.
I wanted to like this trigger when it was announced. But held off on buying one until the reviews. I am glad I did. This trigger seems like a waste of $500
When I first heard about it, I hoped it would be as advertised, but had little faith. Then when I saw the reviews, it turned out that it was just a gimmick. especially when I have seen multiple reviews of people shooting it next to a geissele or timney and doing better on the those triggers, that cost half as much and are probably of better quality.
I also liked this part
“TAC-CON: But military and law enforcement need that 4.5 pound trigger to meet their specs. Comparing it to lighter triggers isn’t a fair comparison.”
As if the military and law enforcement are going to be buying the tac con when they can already have full auto
So why is this news? I can’t figure out if people are so desperate for new products that they’ll give anything the benefit of the doubt or if gun owners (even some of M4C) are just retarded.
Ha! That was my favorite part as well. I was scratching my head trying to think why they would want this trigger vs a full auto setup they already have access to.
Be easy enough to test the ROF by running it against a timer. The juice at worth the squeeze, trying to get them to back up their claims. I admit the TacCon trigger caught my attention when it first came out but the more I hear about it, the more ordinary it sounds and the price is too high just to buy one to try for myself
Several people have not only out it on a timer and made a video, but compared it to other triggers such as the S3G and I’ve yet to see the Tac Con come out on top even after users get used to the learning curve this trigger has… Big time pass in my book!
To be fair, the “top speed” will depend on the trigger puller, right?
Of course, it will.
I’m not sure if I’m following your logic.
While I could not cycle it that fast your top tier competitors probably could. I recall 13 shots per second being thrown around for the S3G. And while I find that rate of speed “unreal” (for me) I don’t need a vid to “prove” that someone did.
At any rate, it’s a bit “spendy” and I BELIEVE that the Geissele SSA is yet to be beaten.
“One cannot awaken a man who pretends to be asleep.”
I, for one, thought it was very telling that the BATFE really easily signed-off on this thing especially when it’s gimmicks were so publicly bragged about (by TacCon).
I will say though, at $500 a unit, this company probably doesn’t need any repeat buyers to make the $$$ they were looking for in capitalizing on this gimmick.
looks like tac-con is unraveling. a few more unbias reviews and the ship’s going to sink like a rock. i wonder what the return rate is for the trigger. i would be pretty pissed forking out $500 for a trigger that doesn’t work as advertised.
I’m all in for 3 position trigger but mine would be special recipe. One is obviously for safe. Next is “3Gun” trigger (no pre-travel, super short reset, 3lb range). Last position is good “DMR” trigger for precision shooting (2-stage, long reset for anti-bump, ideally 1.5-2lb range). That I would like
