T1 VS RMR Paired W/Ta33

I have a Ta33 and want to do an offset T1 or RMR. What one would you do and why?

Thx

Anyone? Pretty certain I want to do the T1, but open to an explanation of why the rmr might be better. It does weight less…

You may want to PM Alaskapopo, he runs a similar setup and has posted about it a couple times. I am considering the same thing for my DD middy although I will probably run an RMR in 1 O’Clock position instead.

in my opinion, dual illum RMR. no batteries, lower profile, no adjusting settings, more open field of view. just my $.02

I have not tried the RMR. The T1 would get my vote right now though even if the RMR is as good because Larue’s off set mount is only available for the Aimpoints and its worlds better than any other off set mount I have tried. It positions the sight perfectly for fast use. For disclosure reasons I have to admit I sold my TA33 and no longer run this set up. Not because it did not work mostly because I needed the funds to do other things. I have come to the conclusion I prefer a good low power variable to the two fixed optic set ups. The reason being I can get more power in a variable than the TA 33 could provide and I could use the magnification ranges in between. My Swarovski has a 1-6 range that I found more versatile. However I do prefer the two optic system to a RDS with a magnifier. After experimenting with the various systems I believe the low power variables have the most to offer on a general purpose rifle. Just my opinion based on my experimenting.

Interesting. What 1x4 do you like besides the swaro 1x6?

My second choice scope is the TR 24. I had one for a bit and loved it. Only sold it because I needed money. I also like the Meopta but its night time settings are too bright.
I will say the RMR does have my curiosity peaked as a handgun sight. What usually kills slide mounted optics is the vibration and battering the optic takes as the gun cycles. I think the RMR may hold up to that better because I don’t believe it has any electronics. Just guessing.

I’d wait for the RMR-A. If it just as tough as an T-1, then you’re obtaining similar performance with some weight savings.

I have had the opportunity to use the RMR on a pistol (Glock). I came away impressed. It was extremely easy to see, even in bright sunlight, and effective at close range 5-50 yards).

It seems to me that it would possibly make a great sight for a close range long gun, like a shotgun, SMG, or SBR type weapon.

The one I used was the amber colored, I don’t recall the Dot MOA, but it was pretty large compared to an Aimpoint 4 MOA dot I am used to.

I can’t offer any opinions vs. a T-1 as my experience with an RMR on a long gun is non-existent and I have little experience with the AP micros.
