T1 Mount: LaRue vs. ADM

Looking into getting a T1 this week, and I’m not too sure on which mount I should go with. I found an earlier thread on GGG vs. LaRue, but no mention of ADM that I saw.
I’m inclined to lean towards LaRue for their reputation, but also curious about the ADM mounts as I hear a lot of people have a lot of good things to say about them.
Anyone have any pros or cons about ADM in comparison to LaRue that they’d like to share? Personal experiences or preferences and why?
Thanks.

EDIT: Just a note to everyone: It would be nice if you could also post your reasoning for one or the other when voting, instead of just voting. Thanks.

I’ve got the LaRue, ADM, and KAC mounts. All have their strengths.

The KAC is very light, the two spacers are the best design if you aren’t sure what height you want yet, and their mounting lever is the most compact. I’m not wild about how much the mount extends on the right side and doesn’t allow the fastest brightness adjustments.

The ADM is essentially free from G&R in package deals, and is very very good. Not the absolute lightest, but interchangeable spacer, and for a long time was the only AbsCo mount. They’re the best value for sure. It’s a more than adequate mount, but doesn’t shine in any one area except cost.

The LT has the best lockup mechanism, and is the lightest. The only negative is being stuck with one mounting height.
Safe queens should not have T-1’s, so upper receiver marks are irrelevant.

I’d also consider the Daniel Defense fixed mount - extremely light, simple, and also affordable.

Thanks, Llama. I forgot to mention that I want a one-piece, lower third mount for the T1, so adjustable spacers and heights aren’t much of a concern to me. Again, leaning towards the LaRue based on the reasons you stated, just curious about the ADM as I haven’t used any of their products and wondered about the comparison between the two brands.
I’d prefer something with a throw lever, just looking for the most robust one available.

I have the ADM. I have not tried the others.

I posted on another thread about experimenting with the ADM by shooting 5 shots, removing it, tapping it on the bench, remounted it, shot 5 shots and repeated until I shot 20 shots. This was at 50-yards and resting on sand bags. My 20 shot group measured 1-3/4".

I like how it doesn’t require tools to adjust. I also like how it is modular to where I can get it to easily fit other optics. Fit and finish was perfect.

I don’t like how going one “flat” tighter with the adjusting nut made it seem way too tight. So, I put a 7/16"OD X 1/16" Soft Buna-N O-Ring under the hex head to give the lever some springiness on closing. The O-Ring has worked very well…so far with 1200 rounds and maybe 25 remounts. But I haven’t dis/remounted it in a few hundred rounds. Seems to have proven itself, so it’ll stay put.

If I wanted another T-1 mount, I’d get the ADM again. I don’t know what else it could do better.

.

I bought both the LaRue & KAC. I sold the KAC pretty quick as I, also, didn’t like the way it extends on the right side. Pretty light though. I more or less bought it because it said KAC on it.

I went back to the LaRue mount and I like that much more. I do not need to change mounting height as this is on my patrol rifle.

I chose the ADM for the mount height on my application, but couldn’t be more pleased with it from all standpoints.

I’ve have used both mounts but now just own the " Larue".

I prefer ADM for the T1.

have not used the Larue mount wth a T1, but the ADM works and always RTZ

Could you specify why you prefer it over the LaRue or others, please?
Thanks.

I just ordered an Aim Point T1 and Larue Tall mount directly from Larue this morning.

I doubt that you can go wrong with either. I picked the Larue purely for aesthetics. it looked better to me.

I voted ADM I have Larue. I like not having to adjust the mount. Sounds like a cool idea. That said, I will be moving to Bobro once he releases his mini acog mount.

The ADM is a good mount. But I’ve had two that wouldn’t lock (the tiny lock that holds the throw lever in place). The culprit seemed to be tiny spring… Not exactly a major issue as the locks are more of a back-up to keep from inadvertently flipping the throw lever. The CS was excellent and I wouldn’t be upset if it was all I could get.

I prefer the simple design of the LT mounts. There just seems to be less that could go wrong (backed up by my very limited experience with 4 or 5 of each).

My choice would already be made if the BOBRO mount was out.
Probably beating a dead horse, but is there any word or rumor at all of when their T1 mount will be out?

Interesting post, thanks for the info. Although a few people criticize LaRue mounts for needing to be adjusted, I actually like it. The mechanism is simple, robust, and I do prefer to make it a little tighter just to be assured that even if it manages to snag it’ll hold tight.
Thanks.

If quick release is not a priority, check out the Daniel Defense mount. It gives a 1/3 cowitness, is lightweight, and rock solid. It is my favorite fixed mount.

I have the larue for a QD mount and it rocks for it’s simplicity. Although I have lots of TD grips with ADM levers that haven’t failed so to me both mounting systems are GTG.

Not on your list, but I’ve changed mine over to Daniel Defense having tried LT and ADM. I found I had no use for the throwlever.

Like Rob posted above, I’ve had 2 of the LT’s, sold them off for 2 DDs.

As he also said, I didn’t need the QD, dropped an ounce or so overall & saved some $. That being said given your choices I voted LT.

i’d go with whatever is self-adjusted mount.

like Bobro and GGG. and i think ADM is too.
