How’d that work out for them in Afghanistan circa 1980-1989?
I remember seeing a video somewhere of the Afghani’s dropping a rock slide on an armored vehicle and waiting then out. I believe the end result was a long game of cat and mouse with a Bonfire that ended up roasting the crew inside.
1980-1989, from what I remember, they were pretty hit and miss. When they were good they were patient and able to wait for small units to make some tactical error and then they would exploit it.
I think what we are seeing might well be a leap they’ve taken in exploiting the media to take on their side. To me, personally I’m surprised that there aren’t UN observers able to verify or deny this stuff as it happens.

Back in the 80’s, when the jihadis in Beirut were fond of taking Western (or Euro) hostages, they snagged a Soviet. One way or another the Rooskies found out who did it and snatched a family member of one of the perps. They delivered a videotape of what they did to said family member, complete with sound. The Soviet hostage was released and another was never taken.

(4) Now, it COULD BE that new aerial munitions were used, but those photos show the signature of a COMMANDO ATTACK using grenade launchers, rockets, heavy machine guns, and light cannons.

Hmmm…wouldn’t a ground commando attack be extremely risky and perhaps unnecessary when, with today’s smart-munitions, you can sit back and pop stuff from a LONG ways away? Not saying it isn’t possible, but instead unlikely, even for the Israelis.
I believe the intent of the author was to lead us to believe this was via the house of Saud. There were no holes in the roof of that hanger, but plenty of what appears to be RPG like strikes to the interior of the hanger walls.
If they can’t do it themselves, they could supply the goodies and buy the skill sets necessary. That they want that pipeline is without a doubt.

Putin will likely do nothing. Getting into a shooting war with the west over Syria and his desire for a warm water port is poor risk vs reward.
By the same token getting into a shooting war with Russia because Bashar Al Assad allegedly likes to poison gas his own people is also poor risk vs reward. So with that in mind my guess is that we expended a bunch of ordinance tonight and successfully rearranged some dirt, mud bricks, and busted some concrete. I doubt much else was accomplished beyond some ballistic masturbation, and showing force for the sake of appearing to do something.
Russia has lost over 19 aircraft in this war in Syria. Syria has lost 2 joint air bases that are controlled by Russia. The USS Ross and Porter launched a massive Tomahawk strike against a Russian/Syrian airport just days after Putin installed over 40 brand new 5th generation radar equipped missile defense system.
Supposedly, Russia is able to jam the GPS functions and Radar systems in our Global Hawks and Predators cough…cough…BULLSHIT…cough…cough… If we lost a Global Hawk or a Predator, it would be all over the news with jihadist or Russians standing on them waiving there black flags.
I think the US is studying and observing Russia’s military strategy and tactics. There are too many players on the field.
Syria(Assad) is backed by Russia, Algeria, Venezuela and N. Korea
Russia supports the Turkmen who is also supported by Turkey which is on our side.
The Free Syrian Army is backed by USA, Iraq, Jordan, Turkey, Great Britain and France
The Kurds are supported by US and Germany
Iraq opposes the Kurds yet is against ISIL
Hezbollah supports Assad as well as supports Iran
Iran supports Assad and Hezbollah
The gulf states only support Nursa Front and Islamic Front while supporting Free Syrian Army only if the US is looking.
Turkey opposes the Kurds yet the Kurds as well as Turkey is on our side.
Israel only wants to wage war against Hezbollah.
Jordan doesn’t really support the Free Syrian Army, but doent support ISIL, Assad, Nursa Front or the Islamic Front.
This is a mess!
That part of the world has always been and always will be. There is a movie quite in there some where, oh yeah here it is…
Now it is a matter of who will blink first.

This is all about who gets to control a pipeline to Europe.
Options:
A) Easiest-- nuke Europe and no need for pipeline, Russia goes home, Arabs and Persians continue fighting but with swords and rocks.
B) Nuke Saudi Arabia, Iran, and Syria and peace reigns around the world for a year. Europe freezes it ass off.
C) Stay the hell out of ME. Let Russia/Iran/Syria push their pipeline through as competition to Arab controlled pipeline. Europe is warm, Russia is happy, and Saudis can go back to entertaining camels and goats.
