It’s tax return time. This time last year, the Specwar 556 popped up on my radar, attractive price for a broke fool like me, maybe decent performance. Fast forward to the other day, I go to the local FFL that stocks cans on a regular basis, figure I would see what is in stock to (somewhat) minimize the waiting times. A Wilson Combat model, AAC M4-2K, 556 Saker, Gemtech…then he remembers “oh, and this…forgot it was in the back”, comes back with an SWR Specwar 556. Better priced than the other models, and remembering when I first picked up on it a year ago it grabs my interest moreso than the others…now that I have a solid number on my return, and know that I can afford no more expensive than the Specwar, my question:
Does the performance of this suppressor lend it to be a worthwhile investment considering it is local, in stock and would at least minimize the Dealer to Dealer wait time? (If the FFL can get EForms to work properly to start…)
I have not found an exceeding number of reviews on this unit and last year and simply shrugged it off as thinking nobody actually had any in hands yet.
Intended use as a part of an general purpose/HD 16" carbine/SBR (10.5"-12.5"…yet to be determined), and maybe hunting if use of cans as such is made legal in GA…
PS: Have seen the Silencerco test that lines this model up alongside the Saker and M4-2K on a meter, and numbers seem pretty convincing at first glance. Just looking for more end-user verification.
Thanks in advance.
