I know about most of the current ones on the market but is there one better than the others? I see the KAC one is popular. There is also one by GG&G but you need a spacer and also one by MI that looks virtually the same as the KAC unit. What are you using? Thanks!
FWIW of the many LMT lowers we got the other day. All but 1 of the SOPMOD stocks had a built in metal sling swivel (works with BFG/DD/G&R sling swivels) where the normal 3/16" or so hole is in the back of the stock.
I have an older SOPMOD stock and I use the MI version on my LMT SBR. It has worked great.
Pics!!!
I’m off today bro, I’ll get some pics Monday.
My stock is more than a year old so unfortunately for me I need an adapter.
Thanks DrMark. I’ve saved that pic.

GotM4, does the new Earth Tan LMT SOPMOD have the new mount on the stock?
I’m sure it does but we’ve only seen these on black stocks.
I wonder if the old ones can be refitted with the swivel cup?
Don’t know, but I have a Dremel and some Acraglas!
I might try that on one of the two used ones I just picked up. It looks like they just drill out the swivel stud hole and install the cup.
I double dog dare you!!!
No prob - happy to help.
That pic is reportedly from Shot Show 2008.
Also reportedly (haven’t verified for myself), the swivel has full (not limited) rotation, for those that are concerned with that.
I looked at an old one and there’s not enough material there to allow that. They’ve changed the mold for that area.
Using the GG&G with SOPMOD spacer. No issues, works ok with my padded VCAS.
I’d like to to get some new/revised SOPMOD’s and sell off my “older” SOPMOD’s, or may try a UBR.
I’m thinking about just threading the sling through one of the slots in the sopmod and only putting a QD swivel in the front. For some reason I just don’t feel good about spending the money on an swivel adapter for my sopmod. I don’t need to buy a swivel mount for the front because my MRP already has one built in. Anyone else prefer this combination?
I just ordered another tan stock from them last month and it did not have the new swivel adapter.
Someone here showed a very easy solution by using a regular swivel stud through the hole there. While not the latest QD it does work and work well. I have done this on 4 of mine.

I apologise for not remembering who to give credit to for the idea but thank you again.
I was thinking of this for a while but just been doing the through the slot thing.
