But yes, this is most likely true. The US Army issues a sports bra. It is either an Under Armour sports bra or a close knock off. I am told that it is pretty much mandatory when doing PT or wearing body armor.

Swedish babes have a reputation for packing a LOT into a, ‘chest rig’… 
The women complained that the bras’ fasteners have a tendency to come undone when the women performed rigorous exercise, forcing the female soldiers to take off all of their equipment in order to refasten the brassieres.
Now we know why they have kept the same old bra’s. TAKE IT OFF!!:D:D:D

Yep, with the increasing number of women entering the military, there is now a need for proper clothing and equipment tailored for their needs.
Both my green suit boss and my business partner (I’m a contractor) are female, and they face challenges in the area of underwear.
Neither one will wear the issued gear, though. Frankly, I don’t know any guys who will wear the issued briefs, either. We no longer have a conscript army, and because of that, soldiers want to buy their own gear; especially underwear, for comfort and utility reasons.
