I think the SWAT members did the right thing. If a dog is aggressive, and it’s obvious you can’t very easily restrain an animal in a raid, the animal should be shot. The officers needed to get this threat out of the way so as to worry about the perps maybe shooting them. No time to deal humanely with a dog in those circumstances.
