have a new N4 recce, haven’t had a chance to test drive it yet. if i swap out the CMT BCG for an LMT BCG do i need to check the headspace before using the rifle?

I’m pretty sure that Noveske doesn’t use CMT BCGs. Three out of four of my Noveske rifles came with BCM BCGs. I’m not sure what BCG is in the fourth rifle, but its not definitely not CMT. The staking on CMT carrier keys is distinctive and pretty hard to miss.
Just leave the N4 alone. I’m sure the carrier group that your rifle came with works just fine. You haven’t even shot yout weapon yet, why do you want to muck around with it? Noveske knows how to build a rifle - you’re not quite sure about headspacing. Why are you second guessing a Noveske build that you have yet to even shoot?

noveske uses quality products I would just leave it alone unless if it was acting up.
called noveske. they use CMT BCGs. batch tested bolts. my reason for swapping it out for the LMT is that LMTs are individually tested. i believe it was Grant on here who said in a post that LMT made the best tested BCGs.
i guess i stand corrected. mine are clearly BCM, but Noveske seems to changing specs quite a bit lately, such as including the MUR as a standard option.
but i’d still just leave it as it is and shoot it as is
Our bolt carriers are not CMT. They may be made by the same sub contractor as BCM’s, we are very happy with the quality so it would not surprise me if BCM used them.
Our bolts are Stag but we get ours fully tested, 100%.
Stag only batch tests so that is probably where the confusion is.
We recommend headspacing anytime the bolt is changed, as will the TM.
ahhh ok. i had sent you an email last week in regards to this, hadn’t heard back. figured you get a lot of email, so i called sherri. she had said Noveske BCGs were CMT, batch tested.
