Surplus Ammo use in High End 308 AR's?

I don’t have a high end .308 AR, but I do use all of the above in my SCAR 17S for plinking. Never had a problem with it.

• 1 with my SCAR 17s. Eats all , the PPU. that I have fed it. Absolutely no Chekoslavakian " mildly corrosive" ○\ same with no…steel cased.

A lot of the Euro surplus and older Federal Gold Medal uses brass that is too soft for AR use, causes extraction problems.

LaRue test target that came with rifle said Federal Gold Medal Match was the ammo used to shoot the 3 shot group.

Check the Portuguese and South African stuff before hoarding - a lot of it gives some guns troubles if your not suppressed, no major accuracy issues - but function due to erratic powder performance.

I’ve shot several thousand rounds of old M-80 ball thru SR-25’s with no issues.

Good to know. I may have to bust into that Port now and start shooting it to see how it performs. I do still really like how the Spanish(SB) performs. It is getting tougher and tougher to find.
