Yeah it is a pretty good magazine it also has the unobtanium Colt 1911’s in there. Very nice pieces but very expensive. I picked up another G&A mag last night which is also very good I think maybe Simply D might be in there. Not sure but it has a picture of Security Contractors in Najaf and I recognize of the BlackWater guys.

Yeah, but does the latest issue have anything by that guy Darryl Bolke or Tim Lau? They really seems to know their stuff.
Due to some administrative and family problems, my wife had to spill the beans that I was getting a Glock 17 for Christmas. My plan is to ship it to Bowie Tactical for the Glock 19 grip reduction. I got the idea from Bolke’s “universal Glock 17” thread on 10-8. His idea was a mod that would allow the 17 to use any 9mm mags, excluding the 26’s, of course. My spin on the concept is the “Glock Browning High Power”. I got the idea when I laid a rental G19 on top of my High-Power and noticed that the grip length was almost the exact same. I like the Browning’s sight radius and perfect sized butt. The 19 also feels much better in my hand than the 17. The reduction should basically answer the mail w/ a GP35 dimension Glock. Also, while I have faith in the 19, there is special confidence knowing I am going with the original design in the original caliber.
Bolke is one of my favorite internet gun people and I am always on the lookout for his articles.
Aubrey, since you are on the 10-8 crew, did his article on the Twight Hard Use Gun ever come out? He talked about in your “fewest worms” thread and I was on the lookout for it for a while.
That Darryl guy is a joke! I hope he never comes on this forum.

I actually write several of the gearhead reviews with no by-line. I actually prefer the anonymous stuff. Because of the limited times that Combat Tactics is done, some of the full articles take awhile to actually get published.
The THUG article is slated for May. The article has been done for almost a year, and Ichi did all the photos, so I am now really able to carry it. Between the Universal 17 (a have done a second one that actually looks better than the first) and the THUG, I am pretty well set on my prefed handguns. I shoot the heck out of both of them, and they have both been absolutely 100% performers.
My best friend said “I prefer to carry and shoot a Glock 9mm, but I like to fight with a 1911”. After being mentored by this guy for the last 20+ years, I must say I agree, and I think I have the near perfect combination of guns to use.
Must resist the M&P Kool Aide.

I would say that I agree 100% DB with your last statement. I would prefer to fight with my 1911, but I carry a G19 (CCW).
