I just bought a X300 weapon light to mount on my G21. This is the first Surefire I have had. I have a couple Insight M3’s on other guns. My question is this, is the on/off rocker supposed to be stiff? I am used to my Insight that when you push one way it is the momentary and then springs back to the middle when you release it. And push the other way and it locks in the on position. Not knowing anything about the surefire, I wonder if this switch is supposed to work the same. The one I have is very stiff in both directions and locks on either way.
Take the batteries out and work the switch back and forth a few dozen times. Also never knew this until about a year ago that you push in on the switch for momentary on.
rockin switch up or down on either side is constant on, pushing in is momentary. a few of mine were a little stiff at first but not now, i would actually rather it stay stiff…“that’s what she said”

That seems to be a trend with surefire. I’ve owned or had executive series lights, x200, m951, and a scout light and they all started out like that. The last executive series I bought the tailcap switch actually was so stiff that I couldn’t move it and almost sent it back for repair. Kept messing with and now it works perfect.
Not overly soft now, but after some use, it’ll loosen up and still work great.
