Thinking of running one of these on my duty gun at 12’0 clock. I was messing with a co workers SR07 and noticed the switch itself is kind of flexible. I know these just snap over the rail; anyone had any issues with them popping off? I know there are “slots” for zip ties on both ends but I dont really want to run zip ties the circumference of my handguard. I am thinking the SR03 or SR04 would fit my needs best. If anyone has pictures of the 03 or 04 it would be appreciated… couldnt much on google.

I would most likely mount the switch about an inch or two aft of the light at 12’o clock. My goal is to have as little excess wire as possible.
Yea, I thought about that but I figured it was too close gas tube. I assumed it would melt the zip ties when the gun heats up. I could be wrong though, never tried it.
I took my switch off but I went from the larue index clips to the zip tie method when I switched over to mlok rails. The zip ties had probably somewhere between 600-800 rounds of suppressed fire including a few mag dumps here or there and they seemed to be holding steady. I mean they are plastic. Even if you get the ones rated for outdoor use they will eventually get brittle and snap. Just throw a couple ties in your range bag/rifle bag and throw the rest in with your cleaning gear and replace them at set intervals like you would optic batteries, flashlight batteries, whenever you buy personal lubricant, you know whatever you can figure to set up a schedule. I don’t think you are going to have a issue with them just breaking at one sitting unless you partake in the “lets shoot this thing until something catches fire”… thing
Edit: I had my ties running on the 12 o’clock between the holes and the gaps in the top rail for what it’s worth.
There’s always ducktape if you are feeling that you need to make sure that it stays on the gun, electrical tape too. Or even taking the zip tie method one step further using wire and just making sure that your twist end is in a place where it isn’t going to poke you.
The SR switches seem to hold in place pretty well. They don’t exactly fit tight but never had one just fall of either. I run a larue index clip on the 12 rail right next to the switch to keep it in a little tighter. The SR05 seems to be the sweet spot for my needs. Thanks for the replies. The more I search the weapon light mount pic thread the more I notice people zip tie’ing these things on, if there was an issue going that route Im sure it would have shown up in another thread by now. Thanks to Jwkutson I’m going to give the SR04 a run and heed the aforementioned advice when it gets here.
