I have been looking at one of these brakes for my 16 MRP. I have been looking at the longer one and I just dont know if it goes down over the barrel or does it make it longer?
it overlaps i believe 2.75", and extends 1.62" on overall length.
I dont have a picture though, sorry.
Did does not go past the threads on the bbl.
LOL, You’ve had two different people respond with two different answers. A quick trip to Surefire’s website shows them both to be correct.
LOL. Now that is funny. I was only thinking of the MB556K. I totally forgot they have the other version.

ok here is the question I want the one that RYAN B posted a pic of and I am putting it on the barrel of my LMT piston its the 16" barrel will it make it look as though it is 18" or even 20" long beacuse I do not want that!
It won’t, as it mostly fits back over the barrel.
I like the shorter version. Here’s one on one of my 3gun rifles. This rifle has a 16" midlength barrel a Daniel Defense 14" Lite Rail and the Surefire muzzle brake.
I have the longer one that resembles an A2 flash hider for mounting the Surefire full size 5.56 can, FA556AR. It mostly goes back over the barrel, but is SLIGHTLY longer than a factory A2. It is maybe 1/8" longer than my other 16" carbine that has an A2 FH.
maybe a dumb question but, why two sets of sights?
one set up for long range one for short range???
It’s a Limited division 3 gun rifle. (no optics allowed). The NM set of primary sights are sighted in 200yds POA/POI. These are great for about 40yds and beyond real slow for 5-40yds due to the small rear aperture. The side mounted sights are sighted in for 15yds POA/POI and using the large aperture are as fast or faster than a red dot to me at that distance.
