Surefire mag

Surefire has 60 and 100 round AR magazines now. Has anyone on here had any experience with them, an if so how did you like it?

Thanks in advance.

They seem to run. My 60 has done well. I think a few people had an issue here and there, but generally people have been reporting good reliability with them.

What was the issues they complained about, do you know?

I think there was a couple of feeding issues reported. If you Search here, you’ll find some threads several pages long.

I have problems with the search feature when I’m using my phone. Sorry if I ask something that someone already explained. Lol

The only issue I have with mine is finding a mag holder that holds it.

Otherwise the damn thing feeds great. I had one failure to feed during a full dump, the other times its fed right through from shot one to shot 60. Put around 600 rounds through it.

300 rounds through mine…no issues.

I have 3-60 round mags and two of them have close 1000 rounds each through them with no issues. The third has a few hundred.

I have had no issues with mine and have a couple thousand through them combined (one has 1k plus through it). The only problems I have witnessed was at a class where guys were running SBR’s w/ cans, and steel cased ammo. It appeared that the fouling got into the mag and bound it up. Guys running brass did not experience any issues that I recall.

Thanks for everyone’s input. I ordered one 60 an two 100s. Hope I have the same luck with mine as you guys did.

You will like 'em. I’ve got three 60’s and they run great!

SureFire had a few issues right out of the gate, but I believe they have everything pretty squared away now. I ran a couple about 6 months ago from suppressed Mk18 and HK 416 rifles - one was flawless, the other malfunctioned every 2-3 rounds in every weapon we tried. Both mags were purchased at the same time from the same store, but one just had issues…not sure why. If that happens, contact SureFire and I have no doubt they’ll take care of you.

The Blue Moon brought out NickB!

Haha! It’s funny - I read this forum every day, but haven’t been posting much lately. I’ll try to do better. :stuck_out_tongue:

I think one thing to remember is to have the mag positioned so that the back of it is facing the ground whilst you’re loading it. Aligns the cartridges correctly and minimizes the risk for binding. I bought my 60-rounder on December 30 from Andean Inc., but I’m not sure if mine’s one of the good ones or if I just haven’t shot it enough to make it fail. I’ve shot it in a couple of competitions, and it’s worked flawlessly, but that’s not really a true testament to its function.

This is a video of the first time it was being used in competition (by a buddy of mine) - at the Danish Open IPSC Rifle Championship: http://goo.gl/4pFOi (video at Google Docs).

Will they work with 300 blackout?

They don’t feed steel cases well at all in my experience.

I’ve ran the Remington 115g’s (120 rounds) thru it just fine. Not sure about heavier rounds or different bullet shapes though.

Cool thank you!
