Surefire E1B Weapon Mounted

I know that all the talk is the Surefire X300…I like it too, but when the compact E1B (back-up)
came out also in LED (80 lumens) and dual output…that’s what I wanted in a powerful, light weight setup.
The mount is Surefire’s M78 Universal Clamp Mount, the E1B’s pocket clip is removed.

Best of all…when something better comes along, it’s still the best flashlight.

That is a great flashlight for carry but I personally would not care for the change in lumens level that comes with a quick tap of the tailcap.

Have you validated this setup yet?

Interesting setup. . .

That is a nice setup but as mentioned before I would also prefer a single stage output. In an emergency situation one may loose the fine motor skills to switch between Lo/Hi/On/Off levels and the fumbling between the modes may cause serious injury and or death. I don’t recommend it but perhaps the L1 Cree may be a better choice if you want a dual output weapon mounted light. Just my .02

Yes…had a chance this last week to do some night training.
Ran 300 rounds and the set-up stayed tight. I shoot with a Gemtech Halo,
so it really didn’t get the full side blast.

I personally like it’s “low” level setting when getting ready, it does take some
getting use to. On full power it holds it’s own next to my X300 and M900A.
The E1B does a good job at reaching out there and keeping a tight beam.
I was just looking for another “compact” choice to the X300.
The E1B and mount come in at around $115…that’s about $60 bucks less then a X300.
Didn’t get a chance to drop both on the scale to see what the weight difference was though.

Stan, well noted!!!
I personally carry the L1, that’s why I also thought the E1B was a nice light.
I’ve personally handed other officers my stick with a M900A and some make
a face like Britney just walked into the room. Until you know all what the M900
can do…she can be more then what some guys can handle (under stress).
I totally agree it’s all about training and getting 100% with your weapon.
