Suppressor that attaches to A2.

Alright, didn’t want to hijack Achiles thread but I have a 2 part question on 5.56 suppressors.

  1. Besides the Halo, SRT Atlas Universal Typhoon, and the SWR A2-RA, are there any other suppressors that direct-attach to the A2 birdcage? Will the KAC can do it for instance? It would be nice to know how versatile each can is.

  2. I have a LWRC M6A3 with 14.7" perm attached A2 hider and was wondering how difficult it would be to put on a different flashhider. I’m wondering just how permanent, “permanent” is.

SWR was supposed to be coming out with one, the A2-RA. Don’t know if they have shipped any yet.

I remember reading about an AAC Omni, but it dropped off their website a while ago.

It’s not as permanent as you think. It can be removed and changed out… it is just not something you can do with a soldering iron and dremel LOL.

Yes, I mentioned the A2-RA and I believe the Omni is discontinued. I was hoping it wouldn’t be completely permanent, but I just wonder how difficult it would be for a gunsmith/machinist to change it out.

I think it’s the Halo that requires peel washers not a crush washer. So if the A2 is pinned with a crush washer it won’t work.

You are correct. I use an A1 snugged right next to the barrel with a a high heat loctite type substance…I can’t remember the name of it of hand, though

Doesn’t the Gemtech Piranha mount to USGI A2?

No. The Piranha is a thread-mount can.
