I see it past the State Senate so it should pass the House and Mitch will more than likely sign it. About damn time.
Definitely. But I thought it as still illegal to use high powered rifles for hunting?
Apparently pistol caliber ones can be used, and .44 Mag rifle is NICE when suppressed.
Yup, they can:
http://www.in.gov/dnr/files/fw-Deer_Hunting_Equipment.pdf
IIRC, that went through around the time I moved to Florida Several of my buddies started procuring .458 SOCOM uppers for AR’s as that cartridge was legal dimension-wise for deer hunting. I remember a few starting to look at some older wildcat cartridges for hunting too.
Which suppressor models would be suitable for use on a .458 SOCOM?
And they are changing the rules again. Any load with a MAX CASE LENGTH of 1.8inches and a MINIMUM BULLET DIAMETER of .357 is allowed
And High Powered Rifles are only not allowed for Deer, anything else they are good to go… Stupid, I know, but it’s to keep Bubba who only hunts deer from using a 308 to take a pot shot at a white tail at 500
Unfortunately, not much out there for the .458. You could go have one custom-built by an 07/02 or do it yourself on a F1.
If you want to shoot SUBSONIC ONLY, the Coastal MIMS in .45 is a very cost effective option. Aluminum tube, K-baffles and the can comes apart for cleaning.

I wonder if a 45 Colt necked down to 357 would be any good? What kinda accuracy and velocities you think that would produce
RE: Coastal Gun MIMS suppressor:
I just got an e-mail from Clyde at Coastal. He indicated that the MIMS is GTG for subsonic use, BUT they will be releasing a new dedicated .458 Socom suppressor in about 8 weeks or so. I’ll be very interested to see what they offer as I’ve been looking for a really big can to suppress these really big 600gr. pills stuffed in Socom cases.

:eek:WOW
Some jagoff from indianagundouches.com will figure out a way to A) take credit for this then B) fuck it up somehow for everyone.
I believe there is a company called Red Creek Tactical that makes a .458 SOCOM called the Tomahawk. They’ve got there own suppressor that cries Osprey…I think it’s also offered in SBR clothes
You know for when you breach a high fence hunting ground and the bucks are in close!
