Suppressed Glock 19

I am going to be putting a Gemtech Tundra suppressor on my Glock 19. Does anyone have any experience with a particular threaded barrel that they can recommend? Any quirks or issues to be aware of?

I had a Jarvis barrel on my suppressed G19 for several years. It worked very well and if I were to get back in the suppressor game, I’d buy another. IIRC, the Tundra doesn’t require a linear inertial decoupler (recoil enhancer) to work with the Glock, so that should simplify matters, as well.

I run a Cobra9 on my G19 with a LWD barrel. LWD isn’t the nicest kit on the block, but it was a good fit for my needs. The price was right, the fit was good, function is good, and it appears to be accurate (I’m not a good shot).

I will likely order their G34 threaded barrel too.

I have the lone wolf threaded barrel for my G19 as well. Unfortunately I haven’t been able to attach a suppressor to it yet, as a 9mm can is the last item on my short “toy” list. But it seems to function flawlessly so far while firing it unsuppressed. And it looks nice, which is a plus to some I guess.

We use KKM barrels on our compensated Glocks. The quality is there as is the price. The chambers are on the tight end of the spec so reloading has to be done properly or you’ll have issues. My main Unlimited gun has been used for 3 years with about between 7 and 8k through it, no issues what so ever. They also fit the slide tighter than stock barrels, not a bad thing for accuracy.

I use a lone wolf threaded barrel with my G19 and and haven’t had any issues.

I’ve been using the Lone Wolf on my G17 and it’s easily as accurate or better than the factory unit.

The fit was perfect, and the function is great through 10 boxes of ammo. An occasional stovepipe when it gets super dirty near the end of a session, but nothing substantial.

I am leaning towards the LWD barrel at the moment. I looked at KKM’s page but they did not have threaded barrels listed. I may also consider the AWC barrel but it is almost 3 times the price of the Lone Wolf.

I thought about going this route and even inquired with LWD if I could get one of their barrels without their silly logo on it and they said Yes!

Sounds like the chamber is a little tight, Shivan

Gunz,

I have a LWD threaded G19 barrel. I wouldn’t feed ball ammo for shit. It’s going back to them as soon as I get home a few weeks.

One thing I noticed on it was that the feed ramp was a narrow chute, same width at the top as at the bottom.

My Glock OEM barrel’s feed ramp is wider at the bottom than at the top.

Lone Wolf first accused me of using shitty reloads, until I told them I don’t reload. They want the barrel back and I want to give to them.

I’ll keep you posted.

Dave,

Thanks for the info. I am not seeing a lot of options out there for a threaded G19 barrel. Or may be I am looking in the wrong place. I may check with Jarvis and KKM and see if this is a special order deal.

I had to call Jarvis direct to order my G19 barrel. It was a special order item at that time. It’s been a few years since I bought mine, though.

Got a buddy who just installed a LWD drop in 9mm barrel in his G22 and it works flawlessly with ball.

I forgot to mention in my earlier post that in addition to the LWD G19 threaded barrel that I have (which runs perfectly and I have had no problems with whatsoever), I ALSO have the 9mm conversion barrel for my G22. And the LWD 9mm conversion barrel DOES occasionally have some problems… namely failing to extract spent casings. In fact, the ONLY time my G22 has EVER jammed or had remotely any issues at all was when I was running the 9mm conversion barrel in it.

But conversion barrels are always meant for training purposes only (i.e. plinking and just having cheap fun at the range), and they’re not meant to be used for anything other than just that, so I don’t really hold it against LWD for the G22 9mm conversion barrel having the occasional problem on the range.

I may have bought a lemon. I know LWD does not have a reputation for making bad barrels.

A little clarification here. Someone has basically said the I am settling for mediocrity by net getting a KKM barrel. I have not committed myself to anything as of this moment. I asked for opinions and experience with G19 threaded barrels as I have never had a suppressor mounted on a pistol before and Glock does not make threaded barrels. My comment about the AWC barrel had to with it costing 3x more than an LWD barrel, but I have heard virtually nothing about them.

I have no problems dropping 300.00 on a barrel if that’s what I need. But, I am hesitant to drop 300.00 on something without knowing more about it. Since I did not see threaded barrels on KKM’s site, I asked if they are a special order item and the question was answered.

I have only 150rds of 9mm on a standard KKM SS barrel in the same G17. It is accurate, and the fit was perfect.

Is the suppressed G19 a “toy”? If so, the Lone Wolf will fit perfect, and most likely function perfectly. The KKM is nice, but I don’t believe it’s a “must have” for a suppressor host.

SHIVAN,

More or less, yes. I wanted a suppressor to have it. I don’t envision myself performing any “Dolphin Team 10” rescue missions with it. When I am at home I may leave the suppressor in place when it sits on the nightstand for HD duty.

The KKM unit I have is a very nicely finished SS barrel. I suspect their threaded version will be top notch too.

It’s hard to argue with the LWD barrel that I use though. Cost was good. Accuracy was decent. Function is good when I am not being “abusive”.

Coin toss.

What made up my mind was the LWD for the G17 threaded came blackened from LWD. That would have been extra from the others.

That was it, my only deciding factor after I found out that all glock barrels were basically drop-in fits.

Well in that case, if you think that there might be even a SLIGHT possibility that you will keep the suppressor attached to you Glock and use it for home defense, than I would spend top dollar on the best barrel possible that you know without a shadow of a doubt will NOT let you down if and when (god forbid) some asshole breaks into you house during the middle of the night and you absolutely need your Glock to function perfectly and violently to dispatch the target/threat.

You can’t put a price on the lives of yourself and your family, that’s for damn sure bro!
