Supplements who takes what?

I researched the heavy metals in tuna fish a little previously, and IIRC chunk light tuna had the lowest heavy metal levels. I stick with the chunk light and do not worry about it. As far as the protein powders go, I would love to see some actual peer reviewed articles.

Men’s Multi Vitamin & Mineral
Glucosamine + MSM
ASA 81

Creatine is still the best thing out there.

I just started taking joint juice. Between sports, the Army, and my current LEO work (getting drug around the high desert/mountains by a 80 pound rocket of a working dog who does not appreciate my lack of speed) my knees hurt.

^ USP Labs Super Cissus is supposed to be great.

I take,

Optimum Opti-Men Multivitamin
Optimum Fish Oil
Optimum Creatine
Optimum Gold Standard Whey (10lb bags FTW)
Optimum ZMA

I’m curious if anyone else is trying a ZMA product? It’s supposed to facilitate recovery and testosterone production, if nothing else it helps me sleep (which it says it will). I believe it has more to do with most people not getting enough zinc and not anything magical.

I take the GNC Joint Vitapak daily. Pre-workout I rotate between GN SuperPump and USPLabs Jack3D. For Protien, I use any ON Gold Standard Whey.

fish oil
centrum multi
ON 100% whey

Ive used Cell Tech creao before and It worked great. I have another tub Im waiting on using.

i am currently taking:

Fina Flex Epi-V - 2 bottles 4 week cycle
follow up with the 2 bottles of Fina Flex PCT
Liver Support from GNC
Fish Oil
USP labs BCAA
USP labs Yok3d
GNC Mega Men Multi vitamin.
Joint Support

i have done one cycle of the Epi-V and PCT and had good results.
leaned out a good bit and gained strength. had to stop working out my last week on the epi-v cuz my wife and i moved out of state but i was happy with the results other wise.

now that i am not woking and doing the hiring process for another department i have time to work out 5 days a week and be a house husband :suicide:2

i will update once im done the full cycle.

C, D, Fishoil every morning and night
Whey and creatine after workout
Casein occasionally at night
Been using Jack3d lately pre workout, seems to work well

Creatine has definite health benefits even if you don’t lift. I feel like that and Vitamin D have the largest noticeable increase in general health and mood when I take them. I also took Melatonin for a long time when I had sleep problems, something you definitely want to look into if you want to correct any sleep issues, I tried all sorts of stuff and it’s the only thing that worked at all, and it’s amazingly effective.

For a foundation, I’ve taken Nutrilite Double X for the Vitamin, Mineral and Phytonutrient factors for a decade plus. Add to that their Fruits and Vege Supplement (No way I’ll ever eat enough of those!), and Ocean Essentials balanced health to cover the fish oil front. My goals are not bulking up today; I’m focused on road bikes. I’ve found the Rhodiola 110 to be particularly helpful in maximizing my performance.

Jack3d and creatine… Good mix. Always vitamins, glutamine, BCAA’s and a good protein. But Jack3d has been a awesome addition as of two months ago. I replaced NoXplod with it because its not as rough on your system and you still get great results.

Just started taking N-sane from cell shock research and I like it, I am going to try Anitest from them soon as well as a gallon of milk a day.

Injectables are actually safer because they aren’t methylated.

As far as supplements go, you could probably cut all those supps except for the methyl 1 test and be about the same. That is, by far, the most powerful thing you are taking.

Just take the prohormone. Test boosters are a waste of money unless you take them right after you finish a PH cycle. They literally do not do anything.

What is your reason for drinking a gallon of milk a day?

I have been having good results with the redefine nutrition fina flex epi-v.

My buddy took the 1 andro and the dude put on solid 10 lbs of muscle and has kept it. He is crazy strong and cut already but could really tell a difference after the 1 andro.

As someone who was pretty into bodybuilding for many years and took just about every supplement on the market (I spent north of 200/month for several years), ultimately I realized most are complete snake oil.

While folks are free to spend their money as they wish, just as I look to the experts here for knowledge and information about firearms I’d suggest spending time reading up on a forum like Body Recompositionfor supplement guidance (Lyle McDonald is one of the most no-bullshit folks in the fitness industry).

Long story short, most supplements have very little supporting evidence. Usually the “science” that is provided to support their efficacy comes from either poorly run experiments subsidized by someone with a vested financial interest OR is done on something other than human beings (i.e. mice) and extrapolated into ‘proof’ that the supp will work in humans.

Most of isn’t going to make a material difference in your progress, this includes things like ZMA, ecdysterone, various NO2 products, etc. It’s your money of course. To everyone who claims they had great results on product <X>, to them I say the placebo effect is a powerful thing.

These days the only things I bother with (and which definitely do help) are:
[ul]
[li]dextrose
[/li][li]protein powder (whey and casein depending on time)
[/li][li]fish oil
[/li][li]multi-vitamin
[/li][li]creatine
[/li][/ul]

Cheap and easy calories plus fats and proteins, I have found that the biggest challenge about putting on weight is not in the work being done in the gym but the food being eaten to build. Usually I’m at a calorie deficit so this will help. I only use a mass builder or protein shake post workout for fast absorbtion because by the time I make food over an hour has past. All other protein comes from food.

Winter: that’s what I figured you were implying but I wanted to make sure I didn’t miss out on some new info.

I have to drink skim milk cuz I have no problem putting on weight. Though It’s difficult for me to eat enough quality food in one day to build good lean muscle. I cant imagine being a hard gainer.

I was 215 and dropped to consistent 200 and was eating pretty often. Felt like every two hours.

I dont disagree with zacbol cuz I have taken stuff that didn’t do shit and I have been in to staying in shape for 7 years now and taken a good bit of supps.
Recently I have noticed that some of the stuff I have taken seemed to benefit. Whether it was recovery, or that extra boost/ pump during a workout after a long day of work. Even if it is a placebo effect, if you feel good who is to tell you any different.

No nothing new, I actually have to take lactase pills with the milk because I like most of America have become lactose intolerant. I am a hard gainer mainly because of my job, I move furniture so I might as well be in a gym 6-8hrs out of the day.
