Superior Barrels stainless barrel, from a run they did around 2009:
Barrel is a 16.1" Lothar Walther heat treated (by Lothar Walther) LW50 stainless barrel, 1:8 polygon twist, profiled by Lothar Walther, in Superior Barrels’ discontinued “Dexa” lightweight, mid-length gas profile. LW stated that a heat treated LW50 barrel will last twice as long as a regular LW50 barrel. The Dexa is one the lightest mid-length profiles, without the detrimental accuracy issues inherent in a thin barrel. 223 Wylde Chamber.
Bolt headspaced from Superior Barrels factory to this barrel. Low-profile Gas block from SB as well.
223 Wylde chamber. The best of both worlds between a 5.56 chamber & 223.
What I’m into this build:
Barrel w/ Bolt & Gas block: $425
Viking Tactics/Troy VTAC Extreme 11” handgaurd $180 inlcudes 2 extra rail sections.
Lar Grizzly flattop upper w/ feedramp cuts $85
PRI MSTN QCB Stainless Comp: $80
This barrel was torqued to the upper by my local shop. I fired exactly 5 rounds of PMC 223 for function on a lower with an ‘H’ buffer. Flawless function & very low recoil.
This is one amazing looking build. I have yet to put a scope on it & have other projects going on, so I must let this one go.
I have about $770 in this build before shipping costs.
$710 shipped/insured CONUS OBO. Trades considered for cool schit. No BCG/CH included. Can include a nearly new BCG (no name, staked) for $85 extra.
I have perfect feedback here, AR15.com and Northwestfirearms.com.
