What mount is needed to give a Super Sniper scope proper eye relief on an AR?
A forward mount like the Larue SPR or equivalent, or an extended SPR-EE type?

I just mounted their S.S.A.L.T. 30mm mount. Haven’t shot it yet. Wednesday is zero day and it will get a thorough ringing out at the end of the month.
I’m quite happy with the SSALT mount. It’s not as sexy as a Larue and who knows, maybe in the long run torture test of Afghanistan and Iraq combat would break it, but for my Sunday afternoon relaxing shooting sessions, it’s perfect. It cost a fraction of the Larue, I know I know, you get what you paid for.
Comparing the actual rings part of the mount to my Burris Xtreme rings, they look identical. I believe the whole thing is made by Burris.

Sam I believe you are correct. I think it’s Burris. I have had excellent results using Burris mounts and rings. Very HD. Made from a single piece so rings match exactly. In fact SWFA used to offer package deals using SSALT mounts. But now the package includes the Burris PEPR. So I’m thinking all are Burris.

That was my original suspicion. The only difference between the PEPR and the SWFA branded mount is the PEPR has the extra rain on the upper half of the rings. Other than that, they’re identical.
Sam, what optic are you running there? Very nice rifle, BTW.
Thanks.
The scope is a Barska, 3.5x10, illuminated, from eastern Europe. Not a Leupold or Nightforce by a long shot but it fits my budget. $175 or so from SWFA.
It does the job of punching holes in cardboard from a bench ![]()
