I have everything for my SBR and I am ready to send the lower for engraving prior to registering it. I am just wandering the consensus of the more experienced members, particularly those who went through the 94 ban.
Would it be wise to just wait and see what happens with legislation before I get this going? I have a stripped lower I could build as a pistol if things dont “work out” in our favor.
I am not trying to sound tin foil hat or anything, just dont know how bad this could get and if it would even be worth persuing. Thanks for the help.
If something happens that closes the registry to new SBR registration before you are approved you will get denied and a refund. No down side besides the wait being for nothing.
It is that whole what if game. The attorney that did my trust told me that once the form 1 is approved legally i have to jump through all kinds of transfer hoops to mail the lower and get it engraved but if I do it before the form 1 is approved I can just drop it in the mail and call it a day. Semantics.
So, I’m in the process of building a Noveske Gen2 Chainsaw lower and I’m gonna SBR it. The chainsaw logo is under the integral trigger guard. I plan to send the lower to Ident to be engraved.
I have 2 questions:
I’d like to get the lower Cerakote’d or hydro-dipped. I’ve never had either done before. Should I get that done before or after the engraving?
Because of the chainsaw logo, can the lower be engraved on the lower portion of the receiver above the trigger? Has anyone seen this done before?
