I know you have all seen that ATF/DEA (cant remember which) guy shoot himself in the foot in front of that class. Does anyone know how he cleared the weapon improperly and still shot himself. Was just wondering and I thought I would ask some people who might know!
This is going from memory, someone shout out if I’m wrong.
Essentially, the DEA agent racked the round out of his gun but never removed the magazine. So, when he dropped the slide and pulled the trigger (which is taught in many LE academies as the final step in clearing the gun), it went boom.
Note that he wasn’t the only one who thought the gun was clear. He showed it to another adult in the room (I want to say it was someone else from DEA, but I could be wrong) who also verified it was clear.

I know that he was not taught that in FLETC, BTDT. He was to busy jacking his jaw trying to impress the youth, F-ing show off. The agent needs to be the professional that he is paid to be.
