The Sheriff needs to be fired for the press release.
EVERY officer that shot, needs to be removed from the department and charged with assault in the first degree, which is assault with the intent to kill.
The more I think about this the more I cannot figure out the mental gymnastics needed to go from “disturbance, possible shots fired” to “no one is answering the door” to “OMG we have a hostage situation! Call in the SWAT team!”. And if they thought it was a hostage situation how did they know the guy they just shot wasn’t the hostage? Honestly I’ve responded to a lot of shots fired calls and most of the time we’d get there and find absolutely nothing.
Looks like possibly someone thought the police robot in the suspects hand was a gun. How many shots was that? I see one hit. And notice that the suspect didn’t even drop his cigarette after being hit in the torso with I’m guessing a .223/556.

Evidently it was Tribal Police who shot. How does this work if it’s on the Res? If that’s an Indian they shot, isn’t it all in Tribal hands now? I don’t live near any Res.
Considering their narration for the video is “The suspected shooter engaged in a verbal altercation with officers and emerged from a camper trailer and confronted officers” it would seem likely they will see something in the hands including the hands of a bilateral arm amputee.
