Got an American icon, a AR180, sans charging handle… Looking for one online, came across Stormwerkz’s website.
I didn’t think it would be fair to compare a 180 with an m4 w/o optics and got a QD rail too.
Purchased a charging handle & short rail. Both were of high quality.
-The rail is quick release and fits tight. A microT mounted is perfect with cheekweld.
-The charging handle is of the original elbow shaped configuration and will also retrofit into a new production AR180B. Handle required a slight filing around the circumference, where it slides into the carrier, to fit in my Sterling produced AR180.
Also purchased a folding mechanism for an AK.
IMO this one initially appears more robust than the ACE folding mechanism. The lock up tighter, with larger tapered locking lugs.
ACE stock compatable, or use a Stormwerkz AR tube adapter
locks/unlocks with a with a vertical movement of the stock vice a button, “gross motor skills” fans may like this more
locks in open and closed position
Fast and painfree transaction. Satisfied with purchase and would recommend.
Did you just pick up the 180? If so, where’s the pics. I know that the thread is about Stormwerkz, but you can’t legitimately start a thread talking about picking up a new gun and not have some pics.
I’m using their AK hinge on my SBR Draco and agree that it’s a better quality piece than the Ace hinge. I’ve done AK pushups with the stock extended; I wouldn’t feel comfortable doing that with the Ace hinge.
+1 for Stormwerkz, all the stuff i see come out of their shop is really nice. I use their VZ58 AR inline stock adapter on one of my vz’s. Buddy has their rail for an AR180 and its good to go as well.
I’ve got a Stormwerks rail on my M92 and it’s fantastic. Josh even helped me build the gun. As far as I know, this is the first “factory” install of their rail…
