I’ve been slowly upgrading my AR over the last year but when it comes to stocks I can’t find anything that I really like. I’ve seen and in most cases shot all the ones that I’m familiar with. I could really use some help. I would like one that is adjustable, but one that when it’s adjusted is rock hard. Are there any that aren’t polimars( plastic, I’m sure i spelled it wrong:rolleyes:). Thanks guys:)
The only one that comes to mind if you can find one is the Magpul UBR. I have one and you cant go wrong. If you don’t mind the weight (personally I think it balances the weapon better if you have a heavy barrel like I do). It is as close as you can get to a fixed adjustable stock.
Is there a reason you don’t want polymer?
What stocks have you tried, without knowing what ones you don’t like, and why, its hard to make a recommendation.
The Socom adjustable stock by LMT seems to be much more tight in
adjustment than the standard GI sliding buttstock. The two I have feel very solid.
The Magpul UBR does look promising. My local gun shop is great about ordering things to try out( Ralph ROCKS:D) Stocks that hold extra batteries and bolts seem silly.Aren’t most of us running chest rigs or at least wearing pants with pockets.Iguess what I want is a stock that is simple, but built like a brick sh*t house. I’m a big fan of the LMT SOPMOD and use it exclusively on my guns.

I’ve tried quite a few different stocks and pretty much stick with the Vltor EMOD. The angle cut on the toe of the stock works well for me
I’ve shot at least a dozen or so different makes and models. I like the SOPMOD, USGI M4 stock, and VLTOR clubfoot most.
The downside is I have a closet full of stocks that never get used, but were popular with the cool kids for a minute and I got suckered in.
I used to use VLTOR stocks on all my rifles but I have switched to CTRs recently. I intend to try out an ACS when they are available in FDE!
It is an AR, so expect polymers. Suffice to say, I think you would be happy with an LMT SOPMOD or the MagPul UBR. Good luck in your choice.

The toss up between tha Magpul URB and the LMT is SOPMOD is over:).My upper is a LMT so they were always in the running.It’s been 3 months oftrying to figure out wich would suit me best.It came full circle. The Sopmod was my initial choice but I’ve made some bad choices that way. It’s nice to have a resouce with lots of experiance to bounce questions off of.
