Guys, I picked up my frst X300 today. The rocker switch is super stiff. Is this normal?
I’m used to Insight and Streamlight products where up is spring-loaded for momentary and down has a detent for constant on. When I RTFM, it mentioned momentary use, but I’ll be damned if I can find the spot on the switch.
Does it just need “breaking in”?
Push in on the switch for momentary. Turning the switch is only for constant-on.
For momentary, just push forward with the tip of your trigger finger on the tip of the switch to activate the “Momentary ON” feature.
I am by no means an expert on these WML’s (weapon mounted lights) as I have only owned one x300 for about 4 months. Yes the switch is much stiffer than my father’s streamlight. I cannot speak to a break in period since I rarely switch mine on IOT save battery life. If you want to copy the momentary on feature of the other lights, simply press forward rather than up/down on the switch, this will give you momentary light as long as you hold it forward.
