I’ve not yet tried a rear sight in front of the optic. But I find that psychologically I’m more pleased with as uncluttered a dot pic as possible. I would never go so far as to take off the irons like some guys do.

For some goofy reason I find the appearance of irons in my optic (on a pistol) comforting. I recently swapped from a RMR on my ZevOZ9c to a Steiner MPS and it sits higher due to the mounting plate so the iron sights are not visible through the optic and it threw me off at first.

Funny how different people find comfort in different sight pictures.

Yeah I like about a lower 1/4 cowitness. Also do NOT like a tall front site….can feel it snagging on holster at times.

The deeper the optic cut the better. My Brownells slide is deep enough to use almost standard height sights and still have a good cowitness.
