…for a CZ 452Lux. I have CZ 1" rings. I know a bit about scopes and glass, but not much about rimfire-specific options. In fact, I don’t even really know what qualitites one should seek in a scope for a .22lr. Any ideas?
I went with a Mueller optic on my heavy Bbl. 10/22. It’s the 8.5x25x with mil. dot reticle. I am very pleased with the quality for the price. I ordered it from Mizzou Mule guns in Alaska. It was like 140 bucks or something like that. Also, you could go to www.rimfirecentral.com and ask the knowledgeable folks over there.
+1, Mueller APV’s seem to be pretty popular with the Rimfire crown.
How much magnification do you want and what is your price range?
Maybe 2 or 2x on the low end, up to 9x I suppose. Shooting from 25m to 100m. Maybe up to $300…?
On my CZ .22 rifles I have Nikon Prostaff 2-7x32 scopes. Both have worked great on tree rats and crows. I think retail is $130.
Check places like Gunbroker too, sometimes there’s a good rimfire scope for sale on there.
I have the Leupold VX-II 3-9x33mm Rimfire EFR on my Remington 504 and the Leupold VX-II 3-9x33mm Ultralight EFR Riflescope on my Browning T-Bolt. These are great scopes and a little on the pricey side but well worth it in my opinion. The main thing you’re looking for on rimfire scopes is having the parallax set at a closer range. Most scopes are set for 100-150 yards but rimfire scopes should have the parallax set for 50-60 yards. The nice thing with the two I listed is they both have AO and can adjust the parallax from 10 meters to infinity. Here’s a link:
Not sure what your intended purpose is but for hunting/target shooting, I’d opt for a 2x-7x or 3x-9x variable powered scope. For strictly paper punching, 4x-12x and above.
Congrats on your CZ and although I’ve never had any trigger time with one, I’ve only heard rave reviews and postive things about them. The Lux has a great style to it and would be my choice as well. Enjoy your new toy.
I do most of my .22 LR shooting at 50 yards and I find this perfect as an all around scope…
