States propose leg. to protect gun owners

Not sure if this has been covered. In Wyoming
http://www.thegatewaypundit.com/2013/01/wyoming-lawmakers-propose-legislation-to-protect-gun-owners-from-federal-firearms-ban/ And in Tennessee where my buddy lives that sent me this http://www.examiner.com/article/faison-niceley-introduce-bill-prohibiting-tenn-funding-for-gun-confiscation

Hoping this gets more coverage and more freedom loving states do the same.

I feel the same way. I saw the article about Wyoming a couple days ago. If this becomes law it’s just a couple hour drive north for me. I think any state with half a brain should jump on board. Hell Colorado thinks its cool to smoke weed, maybe we should forgo the nfa and hand out suppressors and sbr’s like candy out here as well.

God I need to move out of this Masshole-occupied cesspit…

Megyn Kelly mentioned this and other states doing this and had a map of those that plan on making any federal law illegal in their states and said they would prosecute any federal employee that tried to enforce their laws

What happens when the fed gov says “No more funding, etc”?

Too bad VA is liberal now…

The Federal government has money?

:sarcastic:

The federal government is the money.

IMO the most effective thing the states could do is force the feds to enforce federal laws and offer absolutely no cooperation. They could condone local Sheriffs kicking feds out of the county, but the feds would just ignore them. Not sure how far trying to arrest federal agents would go. It would get turned over in court jiffy quick.

As far as coercion via funding goes, IMO states would be better off shedding EVERY federal mandate and telling the feds to keep their money and shove it where the sun dont shine. Many of the mandates are only partially funded by the feds and require local funds to match and after a time to completely absorb the costs of the program. No more school breakfasts, no more asinine standardized testing, no more war on drugs. Cant remember what it was about, but last year or the one before, TX blew off funds and ended up ahead of the game. Local elected officials need to get their heads out of their asses and start looking at the bigger picture and stop thinking about this one minute in time.

Maybe the state could collect the federal pay roll taxes and use them for the funding they need. Its been widely known that the feds collect more money from a state then what is returned as funding.
