States: 40,000 new laws/regs for 2014, Feds: 141 new regs in the 1st 3 days of 2014

How is the average person supposed to keep from breaking a law/regulation when they are added at this rate?

Perhaps we should skip the concealed carry firearm and carry an attorney everywhere we go?

No one can even figure out how many federal laws exist. The article opens up with: For decades, the task of counting the total number of federal criminal laws has bedeviled lawyers, academics and government officials. “You will have died and resurrected three times,” and still be trying to figure out the answer, said Ronald Gainer, a retired Justice Department official.

My favorite quote from the article:

“There is no one in the United States over the age of 18 who cannot be indicted for some federal crime,” said John Baker, a retired Louisiana State University law professor who has also tried counting the number of new federal crimes created in recent years. “That is not an exaggeration”.

You’re not.

Ayn Rand illustrated this quite well… “The only power any government has is the power to crack down on criminals. Well, when there aren’t enough criminals, one makes them. One declares so many things to be a crime that it becomes impossible for men to live without breaking laws.

My thoughts exactly.

This is why I’m perfectly happy with a so-called “do-nothing Congress”. Every time they “do something”, in most cases, it limits individual liberty.

Sadly, this is the case. Its better when the whole lot of them is on vacation.

Ditto for me too.

The less they do, the better off we are.

We’re simply living in a State of Opression. It’s sad that we have the Illusion of Freedom.

Our Founding Fathers warned us about letting it come to this…they, after all, fought a war over these things we are currently facing.

Hopefully, people will wake up & act accordingly (whatever that may look like) in the near future and straighten this shit out. I believe it’s still reversible, but time is of the essence.

I was watching H2 last night. It was an inside story of what life is like as the President.

Anyway, up until LBJ or Nixon, the white house only had 2 phones. Before Taft, Presidents had to pay for secretaries and assistants out of their own pocket. When you called the White House during Warren Harding’s administration, Warren Harding answered the phone. They said the executive office was designed this way because the Founders were fearful of a strong federal government, and of a strong chief executive. Contrast that with the 2011 budget for the white house staff: $65,000,000.

The Federal Gov’t is growing at an exponential amount every year. It’s quite ridiculous but it’s for your own good people.

Anyone ever read any of this guy’s points of view? I saw him on tv the other day and didn’t see the whole show but he had some very thoughts on various matters in the interview. http://www.freedomworks.org/matt-kibbe

“I am free because I know that I alone am morally responsible for everything I do. I am free, no matter what rules surround me. If I find them tolerable, I tolerate them; if I find them too obnoxious, I break them. I am free because I know that I alone am morally responsible for everything I do.”

Robert A. Heinlein

Come on guys, laws are only meant to protect you, keep you safe, for the children.

The government loves you, dear leader is here for you and you only.

In all seriousness (As sad and Disgusting as it may be); we are beyond the pale in so many ways. I believe we still have a narrow window of opportunity/time to change things for the better of the country/nation, but that window is closing rapidly with each passing year (Each passing month at this point), and the options we have to deal with this “cancer” are dwindling at an increasingly exponential rate.

Add to that the media/governments ability to mold the minds of the electorate (And now importing a new electorate from down south) into complacent mush and lead them like sheep, and we are dangerously close to the extinction of liberty and the REAL American way of life. You can feel it, it is tangible- the writing is on the wall.

Unless we make MAJOR changes between now and 2020; I fear the worst for this country and my liberty loving fellow country men.

Makes me sad how ****ed we’ve become. HOW COMPLIANT AND IGNORANT/STUPID THE TYPICAL AMERICAN IS THESE DAYS is just an utter shame and quite frankly physically sickening at times.

PEOPLE NEED TO WAKE THE **** UP FAST AND GET IN THE GAME. The clock is ticking…
