I just installed a Magpul ASAP on my Colt SBR. I just staked the castle nut and was wondering if I staked it properly. Did I stake properly? If not what to do about it.
Take a picture of it straight on, not at an angle. If you’ve displaced enough material from the end plate into the notch in the castle nut, you’ve accomplished your task.
Looks adequate, did you stake it in more than one place?
Yes there is metal going into the notch of the castle nut.

I’d hit the other side of your staking point with a punch. Get some more material in there.
