Stake receiver extension

Hey all, new here and a great forum! I just bought a Bushmaster XM15 E2S and need to stake the receiver extension and carrier key.

I’ve already ordered P-MOACK for my carrier key and want to know how do I stake the extension? (using household tools).

Also, just want to know how do you take off those parts that are staked on? Just curious.

You can use an auto center punch or a or a sharp hand held center punch and hammer.
make it look like the ones in M4s photos of the VLTOR. You want to move metal from the plate into one of the notches in the castle nut.
You can use the exact same tools for the carrier key.

For removal…
The stock wrench works fine for removing the castle nut. On the carrier, Dremel or other rotary grinding tool. File will do in a pinch.
