A friend has a Delica on a pass around, and I’m toting it for a week.
I do actually like the colors. I’m wearing khaki Dockers at work during the week. I like how the color is a bit less obtrusive than the tacikewl black knives.
It’s also not as shiny as the black FRN, which I was never fond of.
VG-10 seems to work pretty well, on that price point. You can find the Delica for under $60 on fleabay.
New Graham are good folks. Mike and New Graham have the same sort of rep in the knife business that Paul Buffoni has at BCM. I have bought probably 12-15 knives from him.
If you order from yourcornerstore, be aware of their policy on backorders.
You do not get a refund if they are out of stock, you get store credit.
A friend has been waiting on a full flat grind Manix 2 for several months, and was just told he would not see it until September. No refund offered, he has to try and find another knife on their site he wants.

I’d rather pay 3-5 dollars more, and see real-time inventory, and know I was going to get a knife. Not trying to start a urinating contest, just help a brother out.
No problem man. I have ordered a total of 3 knives in my life and all of them were from there, cheap, in stock, and no problems.
But if they are shady, piss on em. If you’ve had bad experiences with them I’ll keep my mouth shut on recommending them in the future haha. I’m a total newbie to the knife world.
mnoe82, my apologies if I gave the impression that they are shady. That was not my intent. I just wanted folks to understand their ordering policies.
I have personally had issues where I ordered a product from Company X, blithely assuming that because they did not ship in 30-60 days, I could obtain a refund. That’s not the case with all vendors.
I’m a fan of sights like BCM, G&R, New Graham and others that allow you to check the inventory. If they don’t get it to you, they will send you the refund post-haste. That’s all I was really driving at.
I like those Spydies you posted, and hope they bring you years of trustworthy service. I’m a big fan of that company, and have probably a half-dozen or so sitting in the safe now.
I’m thinking of doing one in flat green and the other in flat black. Looking at the knives, I can tell ill wanna duracoat the hardware holding the knife together as well. The pins and screws really stand out to me.
Good looking knives, though I wished they would put a dull finish of some sorts on the blades. Kind of pointless to have a combat knife with a FDE handle but a nice bright shiny blade to gleam rays of light.
IMHO the handles appear to be more of a CB (coyote brown) than FDE.
Biggest problem I can see in wanting to color the hardware on the knife is the heads of the pins tend to be proud, and they’ll wear off quickly, plus surface prep on a part that tiny is not going to be easy.
If you want it to stick well yeah, surface prep is helpful. Your cheap option is to get an artists paintbrush (small) and a jar of modeling paint in your favorite tan, and just reapply as needed. Cheap, workable, and if you are on the two-way range, as many goodly folk here on M4C are in reality, it is small/light enough to consider taking in your field gear if you think it might wear off on a mission, and possibly compromise your position.
I don’t think many think of a Delica as a “combat knife”. I know I don’t. My EDC is an older Delica with a combo blade, and it’s great for that purpose. I also like the new brown Delicas with FFG blades, and I plan on getting one since they are a limited edition, and once they are gone, they are gone. It’s a nice size knife. On the Spyderco forum, the brown is thought of as “moca brown”.
Well it is open to speculation as any knife carried into harm’s way would be essentially a “combat knife”. Folders are more popular than ever especially with troops deployed abroad due to their size and weight.
