Local lgs got one in for $475. Pretty sure it’s Springfield’s way of trying to take away RIA’s market. I liked what I saw though.

If Springfield would make these in 38Super as they once did or even 9MM I would get one or both at that price.

I doubt they cheapened anything, but that’s no MilSpec 1911. I was issued MilSpec, and it didn’t have no lowered and flared ejection port.

It’s what SAI calls it.

Their version of the M1911A1 was the Mil-Spec GI.

The markings look different than the 1911A1 model they sell for a couple hundred more.

Some years ago, had a MilSpec Springer that was GI right down to the nearly invisible iron sights. It worked just fine, and wasn’t expensive. A desire for a G43 when they were first out sent it on its way, but wish I’d kept it.
What’s shown in the links is a different critter.
No harm in shoving the old one in a GI holster. I think that one was Filipino or Brazilian.
