Another kiddo on the way, man cave is getting claimed for new one.
I am now having to either condense to a Frankford arsenal reloading portable stand and pull it out the closet and set up every time I want to reload, or move to the attached tool shed.
Tool shed is not conditioned. I am thinking of setting up in there and getting one of the split unit AC. I have seen them in server rooms and some offices at work, they seem to work well. Anyone have one at their house? I think it would be easier than adding a window and window unit.
The other option would be to pull another duct from my central air, but think it would not work well as the air cannot return to the system. So to get air flow I would need to vent to outside and waste ac.
They look pretty easy to install and come pre-charged with freon.
Dont know much about them but pretty common in the islands
Our home her in phx has central air and I think I prefer the splits big time
The only downside to them is one side gets a bit more cool at first but ceiling fans are also super common so tend to move it around pretty quick
Also like em if ya come in from work ya can turn one on and stand in front of them and cool off nicely
Next place I want to use them so each room can be turned on or off and each room can have its own temp etc…
As far as easier ? Guess it depends if ya have a window
Saw some condos that got them ditched the in wall/window type units they would just mount the one side where the other unit wasmso the water drain would be in the same spot then bring up the pipe unit poke a hole in the wall to the in room unit seemed pretty easy
Most condos on Maui are concrete block
