Spikes or Aero Lower?

Looking to build a new lower do u guys have any experience with spikes or aero lowers? Also how are the spikes lower parts kits?

Both lowers are fine. I think Aero actually makes a lot of the lowers for Spikes.

I don’t have any experience with the Spikes LPK, all of my guns use G&R’s

Pretty discussed topic. Aside from flared this or that Features from some manufacturers if it’s In spec then it’s whatever roll mark you like.

I’ve used white oak kits in my one rifle I know would never be used for anything important and colt kits the rest of the time. The colt kits from grant plus a alg qms will run you what a cheap complete kit cost not too long ago.

used both and would lean towards the ST…but you can’t go wrong either way!

I just can’t get over the dueling dicks logo of spikes, so I lean towards Aero.

Aero.

I looked into buying a few stripped lowers last week.

With it being a buyers market right now, you might actually save money or come out the same buying a complete lower.
Complete bcm lower from Grant is 350 for a blem lower that includes the bcm stock and bcm grip and QD end plate

Stripped lower $90 to $150 depending on brand
DD LPK $90
Stock$50
Buffer tube $20
H1 $20
Buffer spring $10
Hand grip $30
Castle nut end plate and misc other parts $10 to $30 depending if u want a QD end plate
Plus the tools and time it takes to put it together

I would recommend a completed lower.

ETA. I just looked up the price of a complete spikes lower and they run about $250. I couldn’t build one for that even with my LEO discounts.

I have both, Spikes has better machne work (forge line completely removed) and a more matte finish. I’ve also had problems with both, but much better CS from Spikes. However they both work equally well.

For me, Aero Precision. I just started a new build using Aero components.

Lower $50
Upper $50
LPK $55

Not blems. All went together without a hitch, but the takedown detent wasn’t as smooth as I would have liked it to have been. I swapped in a Colt pin and it worked fine. The trigger is actually nice. Dealer I got the parts from isn’t a sponsor here, but Google may be your friend.

Complete Aero lower $205. Stripped blem were on sale for $45.

With BCM complete lowers going for $380 to $395, why bother with spikes or aero? In regards to spikes, do you really want a lower with a logo showcasing two penises crushing a bug?

Because you want a VLTOR A5 RE - buffer etc…that is why I went with a stripped lower.

Sionics has pretty good deals right now on assembled lowers, I think I’d go that route now vs buying a stripped lower

It has the A5 and ALG trigger, really can not beat that price

That does seem like a really good deal, thanks for posting.

why bother with anything? Should we all just drive Mustangs and wear tapout t shirts? Variety is the spice of life…why does every thread in here go high and right, and turn “just buy BCM”? If it’s a duty weapon, then who gives a sh*t what the roll marks are.

Besides, some people may enjoy the dueling penises. Not that there’s anything wrong with that, as Seinfeld would say, bwahaha.

Edit…I always thought it looked like a deranged mardi gras mask.

Hey guys, I don’t have a Spikes, but where do you get dueling dicks out of a spider? Am I missing something?

I don’t get that either, but it is a thing here with some folks. I think there are a few “kids” here who are a wee bit uncomfortable with their boyhood.

I typically just toss it into the you must be under 30 bin and move forward.

agreed…don’t get me started on the BCM trucker hat range ninjas I see sweeping their muzzles and rapid firing…tacticool is a new gun qualification in case anyone is interested.
