do any of you guys have any experience with the spikes tactical compressor? I have an opportunity to pick one up at a great price but would like some input from somebody who has some time on one.

I suppose it makes a nice PDW compared to 5.7mm. 300BLK would be ok BUT the one thing that stands out is that Spikes says its hearing safe but the “review” from G&A says the 300BLK Suppressor is good for 16-20db reduction only. That is not good enough for me. And I wonder how loud 5.56 is.
It’s won’t get much love here because of the Spike’s Tactical reputation. There are better SBRs out there and better cans to mount on your SBR though points to ST for putting it all on one package.

I don’t have experience with that exact model, but I have a 300blk built around a compressor barrel that I can talk about.
First off, I wouldn’t really say there’s anything “special” about the compressor other than the can / gas block combo. So, if you’re not going to be using the Spikes can, I’d just build your own SBR.
The way I did mine, I was able to purchase a compressor barrel (prototype one with spiral fluting instead of the lateral flutes). I threw an SDN-6 on there and wrapped the whole thing up in a Knights URX-4.
It makes for a really nice package. I shoot only subsonics with it though it will cycle just fine with supers. But for me, the build is solely meant for uber quiet shooting. I have a T-1 in a Knights mount on top and it seems to be a good optic fit for the build.
The gas block on the Compressor is like a syrac gen 1, with the little spring loaded push button to adjust the hex screw. So you can basically dial in your gas settings to how you want them (at least this is how my prototype barrel came, I assume the production ones are the same unless they ended up going with a fixed gas block).
But the cool thing is that the gas block is also a collar and indexing point for their can which is a reflex can. This is really similar to the Ops Inc cans. So if you’re using their can you end up with a crazy short package. The downside is their can is pretty hefty, so they have to use that crazy big BAR rail on there to get the can underneath. With the SDN-6 I have on mine, it’s slim enough to fit under a URX 4, so while my build is about an inch longer, it’s much much slimmer and feels way better in the hand. Easy to manuever, etc…
Another thing, their can is just a thread-on I believe, which is fine, but I noticed in Travis Haley’s video of him shooting one that the can was walking off during FA fire. Just something to be aware of.
Other than that, it’s just an 8" 300blk SBR, nothing special and you could build your own for pretty cheap. There’s other stuff they do like the crazy gas tube and stuff, but meh, that’s all proprietary stuff which doesn’t interest me anyway. Anything specific you’re wanting to know about it?
it sounds like you have a pretty nice rig. I believe that I am going to pick up the factory build in 5.56 with their LRS which is their longer can. I really like that short can but I would like it to be hearing safe if I am going to pay the extra $ on the tax stamp. I thought about a build but I have never done one and I really do like the gun. it appears to be well built.
Ah, gotcha. I didn’t realize you were talking about the 556 version, I thought you were referring to the 300 blk. I don’t really understand the 556 version. I would stick with Colt, or KAC on the top end. YMMV.
