If you take a spare BCG with you when you go to the range, training, hunting, etc., how do you carry your spare BCG in the field?
I keep mine in the tube it came in, but I am afraid the “carboard box” material might hold humidity.
Inside a spare carbine.
I wonder if the smallest Magpul DAKA pouch or DAKA hard box would work.
You could always lube it then shrink or vacuum wrap it.
Is taking the whole carrier necessary? I can see firing pin, cam pin and spare bolt….but the whole carrier too?
Like tits was alluding to, I’d just keep a spare gun nearby.
I have to look at the Daka choices to see if it fits. No a bad idea.
The vacuum option is also a good idea.
For carbine classes and range time, yes, I could have (and I have done so) a second rifle nearby. Although it might not always be the case.
I have DD and BCM rifles and have never needed to have a spare part with me for them. But it is not a bad idea.
Yes, I could carry a spare firing pin, a bolt, etc., but if I could carry a whole BCG in my range bag, why not?
Ziploc bag.

I always tow a trailer behind my car that carries a spare car. I keep my spare BCG wrapped in a spare pair of underwear then tucked into a spare right shoe. It rides in the trunk of the spare car next to my spare baloney sandwich and spare spare. Can’t be too careful.
My buddy uses a different method. He double wraps his spare BCG in balloons and swallows it. He carries his spare heroin the same way…He’s a minimalist, though. He’ll probably get killed in the streets.
The Geiselle BCG’s ship in nice small clear plastic tube with sturdy rubber caps. Have a few, they work well. Toolcraft ship in similar cardboard tube with caps.
But dont take extra bcg’s on most trips…
wrapped in an oily rag and in a zip lock.
Just carry a bolt in you magpul grip.

After picking a spare bolt off the ground twice, I’ll never trust one of those things.

That’s a neat idea. Never felt the need for a BCG container, but am sort of tempted by this, just because it’s cool.
My spare bolts and carriers are in a sealed ziplock VCI bag. I do not typically take them to the range, as I usually have several rifles / pistols.
Ok. Good for you and your buddy.
That’s nice. Thanks.
Have you bought from them before?
There has to be some $5 plastic Amazon container that would hold it well without being too big.
I’d simply break free it, drop in a ziplock and then drop that in some similar size cheap hard plastic case.
My Arisaka lights came in red plastic cases that are just a smidge too short for a BCG. Rubber bands to the rescue, or buy a longer one. Maybe Will can chime in here on that.
