Does anybody know of a reliable company that can do this?
Edit:
Found a good gunsmith to have my barrel sent off for Ionbond. Just received the barrel and so far so good.

Rainier Arms’ Select series.
EDIT: ^^ the above’s barrels are made by Black Hole Weaponry (confirmed by source @ RA)
Blackholeweaponry.com…true polygon.
I already have a barrel.
Considering the cost of coatings etc, wouldnt it just be easier to buy a barrel already coated w it? Seems to me having coatings done on barrels are a little pointless in terms of cost to replacement ratio.
Fluting, peening etc is a little more understandable.
BHW has my vote if new barrel.
SixEight,
The first one below specializes in black oxide. They are supposed to be good with reasonable cost. I have never used them so can’t attest to this.
Number 2 is ion bond coating. It is more expensive, but light years better than black oxide. The most durable finish I have seen.
Number 3 offers both finishes. I know they do handguns, not sure about long gun barrels. Call them. Have dealt with them, good service.
Here’s one of the best.
Actually Ionbond was cheaper or at least no more than most of the black oxide IIRC. I spoke to #3 and they won’t coat AR barrels IIRC.
I found a smith that Ionbond in NC recommended which is closer to me and faster turnaround than Springer.

I’ll let y’all know how it turns out.
I just got my barrel back from the gunsmith. It was about a 4 week turnaround time which was exactly what I was told. I think Springer quotes a little longer turnaround time. The barrel looks good at least. I’m going to oil it and I’ll see how the finish holds up.
