Looking to shore up my .45 brass supply. I only have about 500 rounds of brass, maybe less. Looking for a place to pickup 1000-2000 rounds of once fired. Dont care if its been polished already or anything like that.

I used to buy all my brass when I reloaded for .45 several years ago. I’ll have to try and track down where I got it from as I was always very happy with it.
I absolutely hate the range-chicken dance so it was always worth it to me to pay for the brass.
Wow, they have quite the selection of 9mm! I’m about to try to start loading for 9 after several years off from loading .45, and I don’t know where to begin with brass from those guys!
Not too sure on price comparison, but I used to buy all my .45LC (for cowboy action shooting) from Starline Brass. They seemed to last forever, and no, I wasn’t loading my cowboy loads down to nothing some some do. I also bought some .308 from them and it’s holding up nicely, whereas, I’ve had to chuck quite a few Winchester brass and Remington brass in .308 after about 3 reloads.
Just an option. Like I said, it holds up well, so over the long haul, it might be worth it. I’ve reloaded some of the .308’s upwards of 6 times (ran out of room to mark the brass for counting). The once fired stuff is great when you can find it in stock, granted, I have ordered any in a while because of the stockpile I have from range pickups and the stuff I ordered long ago. Good luck in finding some. Hell, I might have to do a count and see what I’ve got. There’s a bunch of 5 gallon buckets in my basement about 2/3 full of 9,40,45,45lc, 5.56 and .308… if I can find it (remodeling basement right now). Basically, I’m sure I’ve got more than I need at the moment. I’ll try and find some, maybe get some to ya.
Starline brass is great(especially cause its made right here in Missouri), but I just cant justify buying new brass for double the cost of once fired when its gonna get lost, stepped on, etc… at the range. If it was .308 or something else that I was shooting less than 100 rounds in a range session all in a controller manner, I would probably consider it, but for class’s and general range use, dont want to spend quite that much.
I wish I had buckets of brass in my basement. I got plenty of .223/5.56 and 9mm, but the .45 is what is in short supply.
well i had to pay $30 for 300 rounds of once fired at local gun shop and sur enough after the 9th rounds the the resizer brioke the decapper/sizer in my die,well gotta spend another $10 for a replacement and hand check every round now,sure would be nice to have 1000 cases of regular 223 as i dont work the 5.56 with crimped primers nymore.
heck i got about 30 primed rounds of new 308 and about 125 reloads and 2 boxes new winchester 308 i have been trying to trade for some 223 brass or sell the 308 for $40 and would even throw in some 270 and 243 brass,just cant find anyone here in stlouis
Why not? I reload thrice fired glock cases. 9mm brass is so easy to pick up that I’ll usually end up throwing anything that isn’t shiney once fired into the recycle bucket to help me make weight.
Paying for brass is philisophically repulsive to me unless you need NEW brass or have a rare caliber. Just go shooting with Iraqgunz one time and you’ll have enough brass for a year!
