Something New from Dead Air!

From the mad science department at Dead Air Silencers!

The question is, what will fit best in their product line? Any thoughts or speculation?

Something cool But we have to wait until October 11, 2018 for the details.

Dang, I’m about to order a Sandman-TI. Wonder if I should wait?

I would certainly wait at least one day

I’ll guess a two piece suppressor. Something similar to the Rugged. Small can for when you want a small can. Big can for when you want a big can.

That would be an interesting addition to the product line

Looks like some sort of modular rifle can. I wonder if it will be something along the lines of the Wolf 9, but able to use 5.56 and maybe 308 etc. That seems strange because they already have the Sandman-K. In general they already have great rifle cans in 3 sizes, so perhaps something like a sandman-k with additional baffles you could add, sort of the K, S, and L all under one tax stamp. I guess we will all find out tomorrow. Another option would be something like the Odessa-9 for centerfire rifles.

A rifle version of the Odessa 9 would be great. Even better if it could be 7.62 w 5.56 end cap option.

Obviously a new multi caliber and modular suppressor
If it’s lighter weight including mount than the micro30 and same price or cheaper it’ll be a contender

Nice, I was about to order sandman k last week at work (boring obviously) now I’m glad I didn’t !

Adding a keymo adapter bumps the weight up to be right around a sandman-s, and the nomad will then be wider, longer, and possibly even cost more, while you give up durability.

I suppose if you intend to run it only as direct thread, with a Q cherry bomb, or Area 419 Hellfire mount, it makes more sense. In fact, I would probably get this to use on a Hellfire.

How has some baffles in a tube become so complicated? :stuck_out_tongue:

I blame the gun culture en masse

Meh. Isn’t lighter than the rugged micro 30

That’s the root of a lot of bad ideas. (not referring to this product, because I have no idea what is even being discussed/presented)

Well this was beyond underwhelming. I was hoping they would offer a strong competitor to the Rugged Micro 30. Yawn…moving along.

So what this does is probably get us closer to a 2 inch diameter can which will get us closer to a 5.56 can producing 120ish dB readings. Omega went a little over 1.5 inches. Chimera goes a little more. Market accepts it. This one adds another .1 inches.

I think people just like chasing crapthat doesn’t matter.

The world needs more Surefire SOCOMs

But Sandman is not necessarily quieter. And that can seems to have more first-round pop. My guess is that dead air has done some new stuff with the baffles to make it quieter and not have a lot of first-round pop.
