Interesting. I find the AAC products lacking compared to the SF cans. What issue have your run into?
The OSS SD does look good (only got to see them at Shot).

second choice after the OSS “SD” mod which would give the barrel an OL of 14"
Those look extremely interesting from a weight, balance and length perspective. I can’t wait to put one in the waiting queue.

It can be done. I have one of these on an otherwise good upper that was worn where the ball tip of the door locks it shut on the upper. These let you crank them out so they still engage the upper.
Essentially increased bolt velocity and we were having some issues with retention. The AAC cans are working better on the piston platforms than the SF cans. I have had a bit more experience with the OSS cans than most. I believe this technology will make current cans obsolete for the military. But civilians who can, will still be able to buy SF, AAC, GEMTEC, OPS Inc etc. with regular baffles.
While we’re on the subject, how does SF get around California Penal Code Section 33410-33415? Are they making cans outside of California?
Most all cans increase recoil, pressure, etc. I own AAC cans (specifically the one you mentioned) and there is no difference between the two in that category (as far as I can tell). I run mine on a DI gun though so that might be the difference. With retention, are you using the old system or the newer SOCOM RC cans and adaptors?
AAC cans have have a 3" or better POI shift @ YDS while my SF cans have half inch (or less) shift. That is extremely important to me as I don’t always shoot with the can on.
No idea who SF is getting around CA law.

Yeah, that’s my concern because I just found out about that PC today. My fear is that “if” the California DOJ comes down on them, every suppressor sold for private sales will be considered “evidence” in the felony charges brought against them and that means I’m out money. I think I’m gonna call the CA DOJ Monday, give them Surefires FFL, cite the PC, tell them what I have and ask them if the company is in violation. If they aren’t, “great”. However, if they are, I can return mine to Surefire citing willful violation on their part in regards to that PC and demand a full refund BEFORE the shit storm hits
Is this the imported one from some place other than Germany? Or is this made (all parts) in the USA?
Before stirring the pot with the California DOJ, contact Surefire and find out what agreements they have with the state. States have no problems reaching special agreements so businesses will remain
Ah thanks for the link, that helps clear the smoke for me.
Not sure why some people have to get pissy if questions are lobbed their way.
USA MFG sans the ejection port cover which I believe comes from Israel
Aren’t the AAC cans in use on the 416 made specifically for the 416?
Meh, I would rather call the DoJ because I don’t feel like engaging in circle talk with a phone monkey at Surefire.
And “if” the DOJ is looking the other way regarding the law in Surefire’s favor while holding smaller companies to the law, then THAT needs to go on the news.
Something like:
“Tonight on MSNBC, Gun profiteering political payouts. California, has some of this nations strictest laws regarding not only gun ownership but the manufacture of these deadly items. According to California law, it is illegal for companies to manufacture silencers for sale to anyone but law enforcement and military. That is unless you’re a multi billion company such as Surefire LLC of Fountain Valley, CA. For years, the California DOJ has turned a blind eye to this company, a blind eye that has allowed silencers, like those used by assassins to find there way onto America’s streets.”
Yes…
Are you smoking crack?
The one I linked to above(midway link) is Israeli. I bet its the same part.
Nope, but if I’m required to color within the lines of the law, everyone is, including Surefire. So, if California is allowing them to break the law while enforcing it on others, that should be brought to the attention of the public. And what better way than the “anti gun lobby” lol. You watch, Brown, Feinstein & the rest who’ve fought to infringe on our second amendment rights yet turn a blind eye to this for money, they’ll ditch Surefire. They’ll claim that they “thought it was a flashlight company”. Surefire will take the hit, maybe they’ll pay back all the dealers for the suppressors that were seized as “evidence”, and then they’ll set up shop outside of California. So, before that happens, I’ll look into returning mine for a FULL REFUND (to include tax stamp fee). Then, when the next “incident” happens, I’ll drop the story to the liberal left annnnd enjoy my pop corn as it all burns lol
I believe this was part of the problems that led to Ops Inc’s downfall…
Anyway, back to topic. Yes, it’s an Israeli part
Really?? I’d like to hear that story. PM me
Ghost gun? And with a 60 round 30 caliber magazine clip. You must have been a very good boy!:dance3:
