Some Bastard stole my Lab!!!!!!!!!!!!

So glad to hear he’s back. My “allergies” were acting up starting to read down this thread, thinking how I would be if my black or chocolate went missing…glad to hear he’s safe again.

Any idea what happened?

Good to hear you got your buddy back.

Sounds to me like your neighborhood had a Bitch in heat he followed.

Most excellent! Glad he’s back home.

Is your dog chipped? If not, get it chipped and update your ID info with the vendor and your vet. Many stolen animals are recovered this way.

Good news.

Now may I suggest a fence so this doesn’t happen in the future.

Sweet, now just pamper him for a day or two and he will think twice about leaving again.

Great news!

I have this mental image of the walkabout dog feeling a disturbance in The Force once you’d decided to bring up somebody from the minor leagues, and rethinking his decision loop: “Rut-roh!”

So, now it’s a three-dog household, or is the puppy going to somebody else?

Pleased to hear your buddy is back home. I’ll bet a t-bone might speed up the healing.

Glad to hear that your boy made it home.

glad he is home

Took Drake to the vet this morning, and his limp is from a dislocated hip. The vet had to put him under anesthesia, and reduced the dislocation. He will have to stay with the vet for 2-3 days, and if the hip wont stay in, he will have to have surgery. I am already looking at a $500+ vet bill. If I can ever prove that he was taken, and find the bastard, we will have a nice little “chat”. I will gladly pay the bill to get him back to good health, but I about cried today when he started whining when we trying to get an x-ray on him. He might as well be our child, and I cant say how much yalls support here meant to me and my wife. Thanks for the moral support, guys.

P.S. Steyr, he was in a dog pen and dug out. Little bastard is one of those dogs you cant keep penned up. He gets out and just sits on the front porch, and has never gone anywhere. Our female is coming into heat, so I doubt he went roaming after some strange tail, but I could be wrong. An electric dog fence is definitely coming after I get my tax refund back.

That is superb news! I am very glad you hear you have recovered your friend.

I hope all goes well at the vet. I’m very sentimental about dogs and children.

Grownups, not so much.

AMEN !

Labs are great dogs, but not the most nimble animals…:stuck_out_tongue:

Very glad to hear he came home!

Just to share a story, I had two non related black labs. Shadow was the female and BlockHead was the male. When in heat, BlockHead would break chains, outrun me, do whatever he needed to do to get away. He would go away for usually 3 days when he was in heat. After a few years we de-nutted him and it still took a couple more years for his “drive” to go away, but he finally stopped. Both are passed away now from old age, “Blocker” made it 13 years and Shadow made it 16 years. We now have only one Chocolate male called T-Rex (Rex to the kids, Doofus to me) and he is a great dog… but no dog will ever be what Blocker was! He was 108 lbs of bone and muscle and he had a bark that sent chills down your spine. He was very alert and very protective of the property. This chocolate is so lazy it is almost funny. Not a watch dog at all, sadly.

I was lucky that BlockHead always took off while we were out doing things in the yard, so I knew what he was doing. He never disappeared on me while I was gone. I would be EXTREMEMLY upset thinking that my beautiful beast had been taken. I also love my dogs as if they are a blood part of my family. You mess my dog, your messing with your life.

Dude that rocks! I’m really glad to hear your buddy is back home safe and sound!

So glad this story had a happy ending.

Thank God he is back and in relatively good shape. If money can fix it, it ain’t all that bad. I am betting that no one took him, I am thinking that he was most likely clipped by a vehicle hence the dislocated hip, maybe a concussion would explain the MIA for a few days. I will add that a truly tired well exercised content dog will hardly ever dig.

So glad he’s back!!! My wimer thanks you for the story, she got a little extra love as I was reading it.
