Almost any soft armor that covers around my ribs is too wide at the chest, which prevents me from using an arms forward modern isoceles without some discomfort (too wide at the chest).
If it fits without too much width at the chest, I can’t get any overlap, or there is a huge gap on the side.
Suggestions? I am currently working on the weight.
well, first suggestion is to get on the treadmill or p90x. Better for your health and gear options, lol. Next suggestion is maybe try the USMC scalable plate carrier. It tapers down at the top toward the neck so you can go with a larger vest size. What sucks with that is there’s no side soft armor, the soft armor’s not removable, and if your using side sapis you have to use those goofy MOLLE pouches or get a different cummerbund. Also look into the London Bridge Trading co 1094 I think. Its the swimmers cut vest so your arms have better range of motion.
If we knew what you are using this vest for you could get more options
The side wings on the Paraclete Rav soft armor are longer to accommodate more of a fat gut.
Where as a Balcs/Spear cut are shorter, not so fat gut friendly.
Order a bigger size front and back panel, then have them narrow the chest and back.
What size panels are you wearing now?
Each size you go up, you typically add 1/2" in length to the sides. Add to the back first, then the front as needed.
Just order bigger panels, then have them shortened in length, and narrowed in width. Any reputable soft body armor manufacturer should be able to do this for you.
