Trump seems to be having to much fun Fing with the heads of the leadership in Iran. He needs to get a move on and get this done, so things can settle down before the mid terms.

WTF is that? So what will it take, the IRGC to kill some American sailors before Trump feels obligated to do something? The UAE to have their oil industry blown up?

To be honest this flies in the face of the claims we are doing Israel’s dirty work. Quite the contrary, it appears after all that we are calling the shots, not the Izzies. I believe if they had their way they’d still be whacking mullahs, but we reigned them in (unfortunately).
So for the naysayers (not directed at you Coal_Dragger), which is it? Are we doing Israel’s bidding or do they listen to us? Ya can’t have it both ways.

At the risk of pointing out the obvious… servicing the needs/wants of the so-called Iranian people was not on Trump’s to-do list. Addressing Iran’s nuclear threat and military capabilities was on the list.
That said… last I read in this thread IRGC bases had been bombed with such force it was registering on the Richter scale. IRGC was coming apart at the seams and fleeing by the thousands to Afghanistan and elsewhere. The situation has become so desperate that the IRGC is recruiting 12 year old children… on and on and on… not to mention that Iran no longer has an operational air force or air defenses for that matter. Iranian dissidents and whatever allies they may have can choose to take advantage of the aforementioned, or not. Arming, training and supplying cowards who ultimately retreat rather than fight is fresh in the minds of US military experts. I doubt there’s much eagerness to repeat.
In any event, I think it unlikely Trump will engage in that which he has no control of an outcome of dubious benefit.
Lets let the blockaide go for another month or so.

Trump has rejected multiple Iranian proposals to make a deal. The latest was just a few days ago.
President Trump is rejecting Iran’s new ceasefire proposal over nuclear talks. Iran’s most recent offer for resolving the two-month war would set aside discussion of its nuclear program until the conflict was concluded and Strait Hormuz issues are resolved. However President Trump wants a nuclear deal before the war can end.
Let the blockade go on forever. It will benefit us in the long run by further shifting the world’s dependence to us for energy.
I’m surprised the media hasn’t already begun shown video depicting starving children, then claiming Trump is murdering Iranian babies with the blockade. Think kids in cages.
I’m not saying he wasn’t or hasn’t been “helpful” to internal resistance. If it is to be believed, the fvcking Kurds stole what we did send back in January, so that means we were indeed trying to foment internal pushback. I would hope that it is currently the case too.
Trump never said regime change was a goal. I’m fine with that. It would be a nice side-benefit, and we can help move it forward, but it was not one of his stated goals from Day 1. Getting the nuke materials in someone’s hand other than Iranians was a goal, and then the add-on of opening the Straits of Hormuz. Therefore BOTH need to be accomplished, and I don’t mean some bullshit “promise” or pledge from the Iranians. I don’t care if they turn the nuke stuff over to the IAEA as long as we are there to see and verify it. The Strait needs to be open to shipping with none of their BS “fees”. Then I’m good. Anything short of that and he’s pursuing only “The Deal” and not what actually needs to be done.
Whether you like it or not, consequences be damned, stoking and providing for an uprising is in our interest. It doesn’t matter if they succeed, fail, Balkanize, or whatever. The simple fact that they would be in nearly perpetual turmoil and unable to function as a power-projecting country is all that matters. Period. I will never be convinced that some nefarious group rising from the ashes that is worse than the mullahs would ever materialize. It. Does. Not. Exist.
Regime change should not be a goal, and Trump never said it was; helping it along is quite okay by me.
EDIT: we know that Mossad and likely some of our Agency types are already in-country, and have been. Like Averageman said awhile back, Iran has compulsory military service (some go to the regular Army, some go to the IRGC). Therefore damn near every adult male in Iran should know how to use an AK, maybe a G3 for the older bastards. Leave the Kurds out of the distribution algorithm for sure, but with all the $$$ we spend on shit some small arms and RPG’s is certainly well within our budget.

I heard on the radio a little while ago that we hit several targets but it is not a resumption of the bombing campaign. If that is the case then GOOD, Trump might have had enough. Whether those dimwits see the light or not I have no idea, but if they had any common sense they’d see that big gun cocked and pointed at their heads.
