So... What's export restricted?

So which AR/M4 goodies are export restricted? I have friends in Aussie land and in Europe as well, all wanting one thing or another. I’ve had people from Canada also asking on various items I’ve sold on board classifieds. Is there a list somewhere? Just off the top of my head I have a buddy in Switzerland who’s looking for this:

  • Magpul MS2 sling
  • Magpul ASAP
  • Magpul MIAD
  • Magpul CTR commercial
  • Magpul XT panels ( x5 )
  • Magpul MBUS
  • Magpul Enhanced trigger guard

So what’s safe to export and what isn’t?

Slings and bipods are fine. That is about it.

So would U.S. citizens moving to gun-friendly places such as Switzerland have to sell their EBRs before they leave the U.S.?

Over the years Switzerland has also retricted the sales of certain weapons, though IIRC this varies Canton to Canton. IIRC, you must also be a resident of the country and I do not believe that applies to persons who do not have either permanent residency or citizenship. Basically it is not the gun lovers utopia that it used to be.

If you do a search for ITAR restrictions it pretty much lays it out. Scopes, parts for military and/ or semi-automatic or fully automatic weapons, etc…etc…There are very few exceptions.
