All that’s needed is another school shooting and the trifecta will be off the front, middle and back pages (much to the relief of BHO and Co.) and gun control will be front and center (again). The public and Congress have very short attention spans.
Wasn’t Biden just out last week saying the 4 or 5 of the legislators that voted against Toomey/Manchin saw god on the issue and decided to change their votes next go around or something silly like that?
At any rate as much as I dislike seeing what is currently happening in Washington happen, since it reflects so much on the current state of matters in America, the news has been more interesting and fun to watch in the last week than since I don’t remember when.
I can still see the look on his face during the speech right after the vote failed. I smile a little bit even now just thinking about how he looked like a 4 year old who didn’t get a toy at wally world.
Thankfully history is on our side in that respect since no party has every picked up more than 7 seats in a mid-term swing IIRC. And that was during the Clinton years. No guarantee but still a good thing imo.
Fingers crossed BUT, I think we have a long 3+ years yet left & I’m not smug as I would like to be. Way too many other things going on & way too much corruption for my spidey senses.
A lot can happen at the velocity events/crisises are happening.
Wish I could say I was smug, but I’m not.
I’m glad he’s finally getting to endure some the joy he’s been dishing out. Interesting trifecta at one time: Benghazi, IRS, AP phone taps. Despite the gravity of each of these, I am still surprised that Fast and Furious had no traction; maybe it can gather some new found inertia to become a quadfecta?? OK, my English teacher choked onthat last word…
who knows ?
at this point he could just decide what the heck and try some stupid stuff knowing the press lefties want radical gun control he could decide to push it somehow thinking it will distract what is going on ?
Any gun control measures are likely dead on arrival. No bill would pass in this political climate.
The commander in chief is finally getting some real scrutiny for a change. Lets hope that 2014 turns the tide back our way. If you attack freedom, lie about Benghazi, and wiretap the press, you lose the confidence of even the most liberal voters out there.
Of course, more than half of this country is clueless. So we may still be in trouble.
Then he has far superior vision than I and most here. Delighted beyond words, but certainly never saw it coming and it still has yet to fully sink in it’s so surreal.
